AuthorDruids & The StoneHenge
What was the purpose of The Stonehenge ?
It was a druid's place of worship and human sacrifice . It was a temple for healing . Assembled by giants. It was a vast solar observatory . The capital of Bronze Age British culture,A monument to multiple gods , or a sacred site of the ancestral dead . All these meanings and more have been assigned to Stonehenge, the famous circle of stones on England's Salisbury Plain . Many of these theories Have subsequently been disproved , but the monument's purpose is still a mystery.

( More to come , Do not comment)
We do know that Stonehenge is far older than the Druids . Built in stages between about 3000B.C. and 1520 B.C. , it apparently began as circles of earthern mounds and timber uprights .Later,Up to 80 blue stone blocks, weighing several tons each were transported some how from Wales , a distance of 160 miles(257 km for other folks). An outer circle of sandstone sarsens, weighing up to 50 tons , was quarried 20 to 30 miles away on the Malborough Downs and set in place around 2500 B.C. Massive stone crosspieces , or lintels , still top some of the stones . The entire monument was linked via a long avenue to the River Avon.
The circle is aligned to the summer and winter solstices , but seems other wise not to have an astronomical function . It's possible that the site was intended for ancestor worship. though evidence is still scarce . One thing is certain however . Salisbury plain , open to the sky has long been a sacred site . Prehistoric monuments and burials are common throughout irs reeless plateau, indicating that for ancient people that are indeed had profound purpose , if one that is still hidden from our eyes .

I did this little article here from information i got from a Nat Geo magazine , and my awesome mind , to do this . Enjoy , i might make some more :) you never know * disappears into the darkness.

The article is fine but that fact is that this is a compilation . Language of expression is good enough and it sure is an interesting read but it still is a compilation
Very nice , Ty for info .
well.. i just wonder sometimes... the place could be as worthless as a movie theater of our times, where people use to gather to just entertain themselves.... like open air theater... they never knew what future generations might make of it..... just a thought... dont intend to hurt anyone's feelings here....
for Lord T1000:
I would very like to see it's true reason of being built , but it being an entertainment theatre is a bummer. but it being a theatre is actually not feasable , it's 6:10 am here so ill sleep and type why it isn't feasible of being a theatre
