Author | How to calculate the prize of a many times repair artifact |
I am interested in the formula that you guys are using to calculate the prize of such an artifact. I will give an example so everyone is working on the same numbers. Please write me down the formula you are using and the final prize of this example:
Ruby Gladius [70/70] prize: 17.557
Enchants 5x10 prize: 630.290
So total cost of a fully durability enchanted 5x10 ruby gladius will be: 647.847
Now lets say i find one ruby gladius [14/57] 5x10 in the market. How to calculate it's prize?
I was using this formula:
(Total prize to make a new Ruby gladius [70/70] 5x10) * (0.9) ^ (times of this weapon got repair)
where 0.9 is the decrease of the total value of both artifact and elements after 90% of repair.
So if my formula is correct this ruby gladius only worth 147.630.
But this page: http://www.witchhammer.ru/viewpage.php?page_id=19
says that it's prize should be : 300.873
So where i am doing wrong and what is your formula to calculate this and every situation like this? |
best is to speak with the russians....they got an excel sheet which gives all the answers according to your input.
let me see if i can 'maybe' get a hold of this sheet. |
ruby gladius [14/57] 5x10
So if my formula is correct this ruby gladius only worth 147.630.
There something really wrong mate, a 5*10% 14/57 would be ATLEAST 300k..
If it was only 147k I would have bought 10 of them. |
(total repair cost of current artifact + X)/(total durability of current artifact) = cost per battle of original artifact
Where "total durability {...}" is the amount of battles you can do with that weapon, including all the durability you get with further repairs that are profitable.
Where "total repair cost {...}" is the amount of gold you would pay for all those repairs.
And "cost per battle {..}" is the cost per battle of the original artifact (full durability), which is given by : (cost + all profitable repairs cost)/(total durability accomplished).
X is the price you should pay for the "broken" artifact you are going to buy. |
A full durability Ruby has an optimum cost per battle which with the element cost you give is around 713,15
A broken Ruby should have an initial price that will give the same cost per battle to consider the transaction fair from both the seller and the buyer. To achieve 713,15 per battle the 14/57 Ruby must have a 302300 price.
That is the way i use to compere a broken art with a full durability one. You can use an excel sheet to do the calculation. Or use the witchhammer site |
http://www.witchhammer.ru/viewpage.php?page_id=19
the site using the following calculation:
1. find basic durability i.e. 70 for ruby sword
2. total cost i.e. 647847
3. find the optimum number of repairs can be done depending on the basic durability i.e. 44 times
4. compute total number of battles you can play if repair 44 times i.e. 1972
5. compute cost per battle (point 2 divided by point 4)i.e.712 gold
6. now when you r going to purchase such used with durability 14/57, again compute the optimum number of repairs can be done using current durability i.e. 14/57 that will be 38 times
7. compute total number of battles you can play if repair 38 times i.e. 1313
8. multiply point 7 with point 5 and deduct the total repair cost for 38 times and make addition for the original cost(i.e. 17557), this will be the optimum value.
# optimum number of repairs can be computed by finding the lowest cost per battle over the life span of the art(use excel sheet). |
sorry for double post, forget to write one thing between step 4 & 5
make addition to total cost(point 2), the total repairing cost(17185 gold*44 times) and then such total cost shall be used to compute the step 5 |
for Ektoras:
A broken Ruby should have an initial price that will give the same cost per battle to consider the transaction fair from both the seller and the buyer. To achieve 713,15 per battle the 14/57 Ruby must have a 302300 price.
I like Ektoras thinking so I run the calculations to check it out:
If I buy a new 5x10 RG [70/70] cost per battle will be : 721 according the webpage and mine calculation. The webpage also says that the correct durability to discard it is at [0/27] but mine calculations says that the correct durability to discard it is at [0/25]. This is because of the round ups the webpage makes to the numbers.
Now if I buy this [14/57] RG 5x10 at 305.825 as the webpage says cost per battle will be : 1.003 according to the webpage but to mine calculations 721.
So if we take Ektoras thinking, "Cost per battle must be the same when you buy a new one with the cost per battle when you buy a "used" one" then the webpage gives correct estimate prize. Well done Ektoras!
And thanks everyone that post an answer here. |
