ring of inspiration vs dragons eyes:
i plan on playing barb in ST and i wanted to know which rings are better for fury barb. for talents i run advanced off, battle fury+ retribution and basic leadership+rally.
now my question is, which rings will offer me more damage. the rings of inspiration combo'd with retribution or the dragons eyes. ofc each ring has positives and negatives such as with more morale there is more morale bursts etc but with dragons eyes their is more attack and innit so i really dont know. regular barbs go with 5 morale and retribution because orcs gain attack with bloodlust but fury barbs have 22 less orcs so thier main damage is gonna be boars.
P.S. before you close this and suggest i post this in the barb section of the general forum, i would like to say that i would prefer an answer sometime this century and that is why i posted this here :) | It depends on the difference between the attack of your troops and the defense of the troop you are attacking. For this calculation, I'm assuming you will have 2 morale if you don't take the rings of inspiration (so 4 if you take them). So we multiply one side of the equation by 1.1 and add +6 attack, while the other side will be multiplied by 1.2:
1.1*N * RND(min, max) * [1 + 0.05 (A+6-D) ] * [1 - 3*Y/100] = 1.2* N * RND(min, max) * [1 + 0.05 (A-D) ] * [1 - 3*Y/100]
1.1*[1+0.3+0.05(A-D)] = 1.2+[1.2*0.05(A-D)]
1.1*1.3 = 1.2+1.2*0.05(A-D)-1.1*0.05(A-D)
1.1*1.3-1.2 = 1.2*0.05(A-D)-1.1*0.05(A-D)
0.23 = 0.005(A-D)
46 = A-D
So if your troops' attack is 46 higher than the target's defense, the rings of inspiration will grant you more damage than dragon's eye rings. Since you fight neutral creatures in survival tournaments, this condition will probably be met. In addition, the morale boost would be better than the 6% initiative so I would highly recommend taking rings of inspiration. |
