Help, i spilled a full glass of water on my sony vaio keyboard and now it wont work... the only button that works is the up arrow key.
Also when i restart it ,sometimes it says " OS not found" on a black screen then i restart again... and it doesnt say so..
did i mess up the harddisk? i dont know what to do... Its not even my laptop :( |
Water on a keyboard from a laptop can be "deadly".
Happened to me once before, it may not be broken after it happened but once its inside the laptop, it won't take long before other elements start to disfunction aswell.. |
| i think everything is working fine except the keyboard and touchpad... besides, its 2012 model.. i can't even find the replacement keyboards online :( |
First of all thoroughly dry the key board
You need to figure where the water has seeped in
as far as keyboard is concerned, the keys can be removed and cleansed and can be made to work again properly, no biggie

| I spilled coffee on mine...only the "tab" and "Q" key work on it. I now always have a plugin keyboard attatched. you are screwed unless it happens to dry its self out and start working again. this does happen, I have proved so with 2 ipods, a phone, and old desktop computer keyboard. its all a matter of luck. |
| Give it back to whoever loaned it to you and tell them it's not working. Sony usually give a 2 or 3 year warranty so they can send it back for a repair. Just make sure it is completely dried out first. |
