Author | Reduce repair cost |
Since the change in shop artifact price, it has now become useless to have the repair skill for standard shop artifacts. Take the Wooden Sword as an example. It costs 140 for a new sword, and it costs 133 to repair it. Even if your repair skill were at 90%, it would still be less efficient to repair the sword than it would be just to buy a new one.
Granted, enchanted artifacts and non-shop artifacts aren't at issue here, since you can't just buy a new one from the shop. But for me, even owning shop artifacts is pretty pointless since repairing them is more expensive than merely replacing them.
I've spent nearly 2 million getting my repair skill up to where it is and now it seems pretty useless. |
+1 as I am dabbling in smithing
However it has always been more expensive per battle to use repaired shop arts rather than buy new (discount offers not counted). I can't see this being changed any time soon. |

repairing has almost always been more expensive than simply buying a new one. also before the update which reduced the initial cost of artifacts but where the price per battle stayed the same.
regardless said that, repairing is indeed useless except for rare or enchanted arts. so I will agree with your suggestion, it would be better if repair prices would go down |
may be reduce 5-10%

Repairing cost is hihg, also the lost of durability after is hight.
For sample 0/100 after repair is 90/90 i gues.
So, specialy for high enchanted artifacts, it goes wasted quite quick.
Specialy high lvl players who can do some quests only with enchants.

You did obviously not do enough calculations regarding this. |
I think it's done in purpose, so the only worthy repair is of artifacts you can't buy, especially medals and relics.
If repairing shop artifacts were cheaper than purchasing them from shops and facilities, a few would buy them. |

Or maybe can give more smith points for repairing. |
for PrettyElf:
It becomes 90/99 after repair, the durability gain convergence is ok, but the cost is high, I agree on that.
+1 to this post.
A determined smith should be able to get good profit from it, but I think admins are not going to change this since it's done on purpose |
+1 Not a repairer but I know the feeling. |
