it seems now that AI troops wait to cover shooters in the corner, and they also wait if can't reach anything to attack. it's so weird. |
Yes, definitely weird to watch a huge stack of lava dragons wait. |
They don't wait when facing wizard :( |
i just lost to a mage DE, it was totally weird watching shrews wait; AI is starting to behave more like a human player, scary |
Caravan now significantly harder to beat |
AI is starting to behave more like a human player, scary
yet their troop number is still scary |
Demon might caravan attacks before gating. That is scary. :P |

They are still stupid, cerberi waited for their 1st turn, then came in front in 2nd turn only to get killed.

Demon might caravan attacks before gating. That is scary. :P
Man, just got one of these, quite overpowering. Especially since might demons in caravans hit around as hard as barbs. I used to always lose to barbs, now make that barbs and demons |
thief guild death, thats what it looks like now |
Well I think it's great to make the fights technically harder. Survilurgs wre totally braindead, and caravans required barely more skill.
I had 6 different setups when I was thieving as DE13, and it felt good.
-> admins can (and will, imo) adapt the numbers, give it some time
-> players should adapt their strategies. Turn the brains back on, it won't do any harm.
New playstyles will appear : the game keeps progressing. Stop whining 3 hours after a change has taken place : this game balances slowly over a span of *years* |
Makes it realistic , good change i would say :P
Though it very hard .. in my TG battles troops were waiting till hero give them buff , after getting buffs they started running
Demon might caravan attacks before gating. That is scary. :P
Terrible thing :( |
for Derelict:
sure, brain on is cool(the problem is that enemy troops are 10times more than ours and now they have more IQ :D), we will see what will change, maybe there will be less enemy troops in thiefs guild
still look at other players, with higher lvls, with higher guilds, what should they do, all fights with enchant and fully equip? barely i can find min ap battles in mercs, hunts
many things changed, some are good, some are bad, i hope its the good ones |
Make the troop numbers realistic and it solves the problem. Doesn't matter how smart or dumb the AI is, if one faces a stack of 50 Nightmares or 150+ Cerbs or 1.2k+ Skels, it's a game of chance. Even with 3 Crafts one can't finish such stacks along with others.
But it's good too, game is challenging. Bad because it saps out gold. |
Obviously, Admin planned to drain out players' gold by such AI strategy.
(Just like a season, in admin's point of view)
(They knew well about this weird play)
They simply use this time gap until the players' complaint get boom.
(Just shame on admins) (It Shows your ugly side) |
13 - Derelict, you are completely right!
We just have to learn about and adapt to the new AI strategy.
If some randomness will be implemented in AI moves, then I will be scared. |
@13:
I find there is not much brain to be used when Demons in caravans dont gate in their first turn. Your entire army gets slaughtered before you can move. If you try to put all your units far away (still difficult with various 8 speed creeps), they gate and double their amount of troops :D |
I have to agree with those protesting this move by the admins. It just doesn't make good sense. Over time they have ramped up the opponents in TG to have absurd heroes stats and equipment (much better than the player can afford) combined with huge stack sizes. Players have become used to this situation and reach an equilibrium in their own characters skill level, talents and equipment used. Despite having a huge disadvantage players can still win at an acceptable rate.
Then the admins work on the AI to improve the behaviour, making it much more effective, fair enough. But they retain all the huge advantages the AI heroes no longer need and this step change in difficulty makes it very hard to win and some battles are nearly impossible. Some battles are so hard that we can't even reach the 0.3 fsp needed to reduce the difficulty TG battles.
The lack of understanding about the problems they have introduced for their customers makes me wonder about the admins. What can they be thinking? Do they care what impression they make on their paying customers (those who buy diamonds). What hope does the game have if this is how they treat the fan base?
The obvious way to introduce such a significant change would be to reduce the difficulty for all players (basically lessen the stack sizes) at the same time and let players get used to the new behavior with a reasonable chance of winning. If they win the difficulty slowly ramps up, no problem. If they lose the difficulty gradually goes down since they can still get 0.3 fsp or better, no problem.
I have stopped playing TG until this is sorted out. |
