AuthorDamage reduction
A creature with the Large Shield ability gains 50% reduction of damage from ranged attacks. Scout's cape gives it an extra 5%, and the character has FSL of Elves at 2, giving him 6% reduction. Does that mean the creature will block 61% of the damage?
Suppose shooter is doing 100 damage , so unit with large shield will take 50 damage.

Now 5% range resistance from cape and 2% from fsl , will make near ~6% extra resistance... note that the damage addition/reduction is not simply additive , dont know the exact formula.. but 5%+2% will be near ~6%

Now this 6% damage will be reduced from 50 damage which it was originally taking.

Hope its clear now.
the formula for damage taken with reduction is

damage *(1-damage resistance 1)*(1-damage resistance 2)....*(1-damage resistance n)
Now 5% range resistance from cape and 2% from fsl , will make near ~6% extra resistance... note that the damage addition/reduction is not simply additive , dont know the exact formula.. but 5%+2% will be near ~6%

3% per fl, so fl 2 = 6% reduction.

See Krabylos post for the rest.
if basic dmg is 100, dmg after reduction will be 45

100*(1-0,5)*(1-0,06)*(1-0,05) = 44,65
