Hi guys! I've just came back after a long break from lordswm and i'm pretty unsure of the rules now! I'm not sure whether i have created additional characters or whether i have gone over the limit to creating these characters. How do i prevent myself from getting blocked / banned?

There are no multi transfers or illegal transfers happening between these accounts.

Just make sure you have don't have any kind of transfers between you and your additional characters.
If you are not pretty sure how many characters you already did have don't take that serious.
If you forgot their passwords try recover password or leave them as such.
You may have 1 main and 2 additional characters. Create multi and notify it in your personal information both in your main and multi character.
Also add a line in your personal information after notifying about your multis that
"Accounts sharing same IP does not belong to me. Block if needed. " *only after specifying about your main and multi character.
