Author | +1 attack vs +1% melee damage |
+1 attack equals to how much "% of melee damage"?
Similarly +1 defense equals how much "% melee damage reduced"?
Someone do the math!
If they are not related then what is the difference? | +1 attack equals to how much "% of melee damage"?

i believe 5% | depend of how much att stack have got but I dont know the rule. You need to calculate what is better | In general, you can say that the extra attack point is worth more in lower levels. You must calculate in each particular case, but to get an idea about it you can compare these two cases:
(a) Let's say your stack af 16 golems have 10 attack and hits a stack with 3 defense. The damage range is 3-5. In this example I count with 4.
Damage with 10 attack: 86,4
Damage with +1 attack (11): 89,6
Since 89,6/86,4 = 1,037 the extra attack point equals 3,7% extra melee in this case.
(a) In a similar example with my 77 shrews I got this:
Damage with 48 attack: 1501,5
Damage with +1 attack (49): 1524,6
Since 1524,6/1501,5 = 1,015 the extra attack point equals 1,5% extra melee.
To calculate damage, read about damage and healing in the "About the game" information. | Thanks Majblomma.
In my mind I wanted to ask about arts.
If I have a sword with +10 attack and +5% melee damage and another sword with +9 attack and +7% melee damage then which sword will deal more damage?
This will too vary from case to case, correct? | It will vary yes, but for level 3 you should go for +10 attack and 5% melee damage. | 1/If "Attack" (A) of the attacking stack is bigger than "Defence" (D) of the defending stack, then
New Damage = Basic damage [1 + 0,05 (A-D) ] = Basic damage + 5%(A-D)*Basic damage.
it increase: Basic damage + 5%(A-D)*Basic damage - basic damage.
If A-D = 1, it increase: 5%
If A-D = 10, it increase: 50%
It increase 5%/1 attack
2/If (A) is smaller than (D), then
New damage = Basic damage/[1 + 0,05*(D-A)]
it reduces: Basic damage - Basic damage/[1 + 0,05*(D-A)].
If D-A = 1, it reduces: 1-1/(1+0,05) ~ 4,76%
If D-A = 10, it reduces: 1-1/(1+0,5) ~ 33,33% | Last question.
If I wear an art with +10 attack and 5% melee damage. and according to the formula the damage dealt comes out to be 1000, then the final damage will be 1.05*1000=1050 due to 5% increase, right? | When A-D= x, 1A would equal y% damage.
x/y/note
0/5%/105:100
1/4.8%/110:105
2/4.5%/115:110
10/3.3%/155:150
15/2.9%/180:175
20/2.5%/205:200
30/1.7%/305:300
40/1.3%/405:400
50/1%/505:500
When A < D (x< 0), the formula goes as:
y = f(x) = f(-x-1), which means f(-1)=f(0), f(-10)=f(9), etc...
Moreover, Luck would be converted to y% damage on the following formula:
L/y/note
1/12%/12% chance of 200 + 88% chance of 100
2/23%/23% chance of 200 + 77% chance of 100
3/32%/32% chance of 200 + 68% chance of 100
4/41%/41% chance of 200 + 59% chance of 100
5/50%/50% chance of 200 + 50% chance of 100
-1/-6%/12% chance of 50 + 88% chance of 100
-2/-11%/23% chance of 50 + 77% chance of 100
-3/-16%/32% chance of 50 + 68% chance of 100
-4/-20%/41% chance of 50 + 59% chance of 100
-5/-25%/50% chance of 50 + 50% chance of 100
Morale would be converted to y% initiative:
M/init%/note
1/5%/10 actions in 9.5 turns
2/11%/10 actions in 9 turns
3/18%/10 actions in 8.5 turns
4/25%/10 actions in 8 turns
5/33%/10 actions in 7.5 turns
-1/-5%/10 actions in 10.6 turns
-2/-11%/10 actions in 11.3 turns
-3/-18%/10 actions in 12.1 turns
-4/-25%/10 actions in 13.3 turns
-5/-33%/10 actions in 15 turns
Hope this would help you in choosing arts. | Thank you, SG! Very clear and informative. :)
