Chances are there for you to loot rare items.
Its something like a gift for donations IMO.
But most of the time the items you loot has value less than the chest itself.

don't buy chests from shop, they cost 25k gold and chances of getting something worth more than that are below 0,1%.
get these chests by donating 10 diamonds (10 diamonds = 1 chest; 20 diamonds = 2 chests; and so on), or forget about them ;) |

if one finds a max extended dura shop art of popular weapons (like a SoM) market value is quite lucrative as well.
buying chest with game gold is EVEN worse then roulette though ;) |
