in a normal MG battle, with this setup, genies ought to bring the defense parameter down by casting disruption, once all other spells have been applied. Instead, they kept casting curse as if the monster had fullmetal ability (it DIDN'T have it, i checked) - magic shield 80%, its only ability, doesn't interfere with disruption.
Looks like a bug to me, appeared after the MG upgrade. |

It is not meant to cast the best or even most appropriate spell.
It is random so yes you were unlucky but no bug here. |
It's no bug or being unlucky. I cannot cast disruption ray with my dark witches anymore since the new monster system, monsters are practicly magic proof now. |

FYI: genies will automatically skip all spells that are already applied or have no effect on the creature. Therefore, once you have cast all that can be, it's either disruption ray (until def goes to 1 or 0) or curse all along.
