AuthorArtifact Shortage - Discussion and Possible Solution ( ? )
I was confused whether to post this here or General Game Forum, since I wanted to hear other players' opinions about this. Since I am proposing an idea I went with Ideas and Suggestion. Anyway!^^

As the title suggests, this is a discussion about the lack of ( some ) artifacts from both the shop and the facilities. I have observed that other people have also noticed this... phenomenon, and not having available the arts you want, especially while an event is taking place, can get quiet costly and irritating. Facility products disappear in seconds and sold at high market prices. I have heard that some players use scripts to achieve that, but I have no idea, whatsoever, what a script is and what it does :P What came to mind though is the following:

A player will not be able to store more than 2 ( or 3 ) times the same artifact simultaneously e.g: I can only have 2 wooden swords in my inventory at the same time, or

A player will be imposed a cool-down period of XX seconds ( 30 secs maybe? ) when he buys an artifact from a facility. So he won't be able to buy the same artifact from the same facility for 30 secs, thus won't be able to buy all available artifacts e.g: I buy pendant of wrath from "Manufactory of wrath" in Dragons Cave. If want another one, I will have to wait 30 seconds before I can buy it.

What does the LOWM community think of this? Cheers^^
for ur first idea its a big -1 cos many of us keep more then 2 similar arts at a time in order to rotate during events lik for example i can have 5 ring of thorns at a time 2 waiting to be repaired 2 in use n 1 spare.... also i keep multiples of other arts as well some regular durability some with extra durability....
and for ur second idea of imposing a cd on buying arts from facility well im indifferent about it because its actually a legit way to earn money or it once was but if it can be abused by the usage of scripts i think it would be fairer for the gm's to ban such scripts instead...
i also think tat it is fair if u hav to pay extra for certain arts when they are in high demand (events) should u not hav made certain precautions earlier or not make the effort to camp at the facilities themselves ( agn i think tat the script should be banned )....
as clearly stated by the name of the game , tis game touches on economics as well so it should be ffa in the market whr u juggle demand, supply and monopoly of market just lik in real life...

The idea is nice, let me comment about this part :
A player will not be able to store more than 2 ( or 3 ) times the same artifact simultaneously
And let me add an improvement to this : The amount of times a player can have a third onwards should be dependent on its durability, for example I should be able to have about 5 wooden swords at the same time because they have low durability and I don't want to visit the shop/market every time I need one.

Also I would like to comment on this:
A player will be imposed a cool-down period of XX seconds ( 30 secs maybe? ) when he buys an artifact from a facility.
Why would you want to make someone wait ? It's not like some seconds will make a difference. Also, if the previous suggestion is implemented, noone will be able to drain many artifacts from the facility anyway.
Fisrt idea(to prohibit storing of same art multiple times) -> -1
+1 to the other idea/
for cyberclops: As I mentioned I don't have a clue about scripts so I am not sure if they can be banned completely :P

for Lord Hallion91: Your suggestion certainly improves the #1. I still believe the second one is better though! If there are ,e.g, 5 bots waiting to buy all the arts from a facility, they won't be able to buy everything cause of the cool down. Thus living half a minute, which is plenty of time for someone who is waiting to click on refresh + buy.
-1 to both suggestions
What is the problem? If you can't buy an art then just repair it. Problem solved.

It's sad that in this game you can't do much business since shop arts are easy to buy and named arts are useless since in most events you use only shop arts.
I wish there were some dark times (duration: at least 1 month) where you couldn't buy any shop arts from facilities.
First idea(to prohibit storing of same art multiple times)

Second idea (30sec cooldown for buying same art again)
+1 very good idea!
for Lord Robai:

Repair takes time. Not everyone has a good enough efficiency at smithing to be able to count on it. So, most players rely on others with a high Smiths' guild level. That takes even more time. It's a bummer having to wait when you are on a winning streak. It kind of takes the 'fun' away.

I understand your point about the business part and I'd love to see an event where the Empire is struck by an apocalyptic catastrophe of some sort. Survivors have to fend for themselves, ammunition ( thus artifacts ) are scarce and dangers lurk everywhere. I can't see that happening though since most people wouldn't like it :/ Then again, this idea could be adapted in a new territory where only the brave may go etc. etc. But that's an idea for another time ^^
^ you make it sound like a zombie game ....
i absolutely love that concept pls put more thought into it and make another thread for it...
could probably be introduction to new territory which is currently infested by a plague and all the enemies waiting for us thr all hav "undead" added to their stats...
maybe you could even put in a twist whr every battle can only last for a set number of turns before our own troops start getting infected by the virus and turn into undead as well...xp

It's called lords of war and MONEY.
Getting an advantage by financially controlling resources / arts is part of the game. I actually think it could be pushed a lot more.
for cyberclops:
It sounds good! Who knows :P

for Derelict:
The art shop certainly makes the game experience a lot easier. I wouldn't mind having to camp outside a facility waiting for production. Collecting my full AP set piece by piece, but how can you expect a player to rival the speed and efficiency of a script?
-2..

you don't seem to realize that due to the huge amount of players playing, there are a lot of people buying the same arts at a given time, so that when the stock doesn't have time to rebuild, there will be some 20-30 players trying for a same artifact at once every new end-of-a-shift.

I know that you often may see the same people selling arts at the market, on those events, but the thing is, they don't buy a big stock to resell, they just buy 1 item, sell it, then buy another.. Rolling up to 3-4 units in their pack at best.

The legend of the scripts, that was never proved, i tried to explain here (note, i don't say it doesn't exist, i just mean it's not that much developped as people may think):

https://www.lordswm.com/forum_messages.php?tid=2386776&page=1#39419108

and if you read it, you'll understand why adding a 30 seconds waiting time at a facility between 2 purchases is just not useful.
Beside, when at the shop, i wouldn't like to wait 30 seconds to buy any 2 rings (i buy them in pairs ;) )so that's the reason of my no to both ideas.. sorry :)
+1 for cooldown timer
Simple logic, the harder it gets to obtain something, the more expensive it will become. Plus there's no garantee that "X" player will find his/her specific artefact on store, the market is filled by many people, not a single person.

By the way, I would facepalm hard when people start complaining about any cooldown timer implemented for very basic items such min ap arts.
