Yup! It would also be an unfair advantage for Necro or maybe also barb with lots of hobs.
Also, since everyone will be able to equip one of those, it will effectively increase the hp of all pvp creatures by 1 and that will be hard to balance.
Not giving a + or - because it is not gonna happen anyway xD |
Getting +2 hp (vitality) is the result of 2 talents, which for some costs up to 20 talent point. Some don't even have access to it.
So even +1 hp is way too imbalanced. No other regular art is that powerful.

You can take it +1 luck/morale. |
The ability wasn't chosen for power level.
The Companion Cubes most distinctive feature is a heart on each side.
In LWM the heart symbol represents hit points.
Thus my suggestion for the Companion Cube to provide a HP bonus.
Frankly, I might have given a different name to the "Cube of Strength" which gives a bonus to attack.
The crossed swords of the attack stat symbol look a lot like an "X", so I would have called it the "X-box" instead.

"X-box"
Haha, brilliant idea! xD
Yeah, heart would be HP but that is way too op, maybe 2 ini or something. You know, 2 means companions :D

22 points for necro if I remember correctly. |
For those so obsessed with the equivalent talent and how much it costs -
Endurance (+4 def) requires talents worth between 32 and 44 points (mode 36).
I doubt anyone would claim that Steel Cuirass or the other armours that provides this bonus are too powerful because of the equivalent talent cost.
Perhaps the item needs a higher minimum level requirement so that the low tier creatures which benefit from it don't dominate the battlefield?

endurance is just 8 points (for knight), 32 points are +4 def, 20% less melee damage and 20% magic shield

that may work, but I still think it's a bit OP, this item may stack with the talent and increase hp more than admins planned for low tiers. |
+1 we need arts that give something different, the battles would be more interesting! |

You missed the main part of my sentence : some factions don't even have access to hp bonus via talents. And there's a reason for that, called faction balance. |
And by the way, there's a reason noone takes Endurance talent : putting 20 talent points into 4 Def is a huge mistake. |
+1 because why the hell not? It sure will give some reason to equip this cube.
What's the problem if it affects "balance"? Either way, its not allowed in any standard tournaments, CG, etc. Since the cube is meant to be equipped in ffa type tournaments where people stack up on enchants and unique bonuses... Does it make sense to be threatened by +1 hp to all units?
Well, in the future, if more backpack items are released which can be equipped in standard battles, there we can have the crappy +1 defense/attack cubes.
Also endurance required advanced defense and barrier. That's 20% melee resistance and 20% magic resistance along with 4 defense. Not sure how "putting 20 talent points into 4 Def is a huge mistake. " makes sense. |
How is this considered overpowered? There is already the militant set that gives +2 hp, there are talents like vitality that also give +2 hp. Why would adding an item that gives an extra unit of health be considered unbalanced if it is already possible to add some? Also, factions with tribal spirit tend to have creatures with fluctuating hit points, so adding +1 hit points is nothing compared to the +15 of the ogre magi.
I think it is a good idea to implement this. |
