Allow to swap sides in x2 Ambushes

AuthorAllow to swap sides in x2 Ambushes
The idea is to make possible the fact of being on the upper side of the battleground if you are at the bottom and viceversa, since sometimes one of the 2 peoples is at disadvantage at the matchup (Example, Elf trappind a DE, the DE will destroy the Elf's melee troops ezay).

The CONCEPT makes sense IMHO. Just think like this: You are 2 peoples who are about to ambush an incoming caravan that has no idea that will be ambushed, thus you have tactical advantage, so it doesnt sound that crazy.

Of course, this would only be able during the settlement and with approval of both. Like, you could put a button saying 'Swap sides!', and a message will Pop-up for the other guy and he will accept or refuse.

I know its a small idea and will not change the whole game at all, but would be a little bit good for those who like to ambush with a friend, like I do.
Why not? +1.

This will definitely make the idea more user-friendly.

Why not also have this is 2v2, 3v3 combats? Quick tournaments too?

You could select where you would like to go, and the dialogue could pop up asking if the other players agreed with the decision. It would then all take place when the battle commenced.

You'd have to put your troops down in whatever place you want them to be in at the certain position, and then when the battle began, the troops would be (teleported) to the correct positions on the map.

-1 for PvP

Actually, it does NOT. You've set up an ambush, you and your teammate on both sides of a road, a canyon, etc. A caravan comes so you decide to change sides... you dig the fastest tunnel ever ? You jump over the trees ?

But that's just the small answer to a useless argument. :o)
The suggestion is there and valid. On a practical basis, if the 2 thieves have different levels, that would almost guarantee the small level to get demolished. So the swap wouldn't happen very often.
However, it's an added functionality, which some can benefit from. So just for that I vote +1
Well, the whole ambush scenario lacks a bit of logic. For example you can't pass by a caravan, which you are sure you can't defeat. And that's just one point... Hiding with such armies behind a bush without beeing recognized by caravans? Etc. pp. So if you come up with logic, just forget about TG.

To backup Ipsen's suggestion, I could imagine that you would have scouts who inform the main force who is coming down the road, so you would have enough time to swap sides (and even don't need to setup you armies in halfs, but mix them over the setup zones)

For PvP it doesn't make sense, since every team would have the chance to swap sides and it could create an infinite loop.

No well you answered own question! People were trying to hide their big troops behind bushes, but as you said, they were unable to "hide" them. So as soon as a random traveler came by, they had to engage in battle, since the traveler has seen them. Thus you can't run away from tough ones :)

Yea in 3x3 etc it would cause some problems.
It doenst really make sense. Getting unfavorable enemies on your side and sometimes favorable is a part of the game and makes it interesting.
Has been there since always and so it should stay, no one ever braged about it and everyone accepts it.
