| If a TG battle faces a computer, is there a cap for the gain? The reason I ask is that I don't see much increase in the gold even if I advances in the TG level. |

In short, increasing your TG increases your reward because your TG level is your multiplier. All TG battles have a "base gold" that is then multiplied by their TG level (for more information about "base gold," check the thread in Ipsen's post). For example, if your base gold is 50 and you are TG 3, you would get 150 gold as a reward for winning. But if you were TG 4, you would get 200 gold.

There's a lot of details in that thread that you might not be interested in (and it might be confusing), so I'll try to explain only the important stuff. The tables display the "base gold" that you can loot; the first table shows the base gold values for caravans, and the second table shows the base gold for catching players in an ambush. This number is then multiplied by your TG level to give you your actual reward.
For example, in this combat: https://www.lordswm.com/war.php?warid=752466869 you got 186 gold as your reward. You have TG 3, so that means the "base gold" for you in that combat was 186/3 = 62. As you can see from the table, that is the second highest possible amount of gold you could have looted from a caravan! |

The reason that I feel the cap is that I'm lucky to get the low "base gold" so often these days. :-( |
low base gold can be more frequent, thats what I always feel.
but we tend to remember bad incidents more than the good ones ;) |

I'm not sure about this. I think it is random but that's just a guess. If anyone is interested in finding out, they could check their past ~100 (or more, if you want more accurate data) ambushes and calculate the base gold for each one, and count how many times they got each base gold. If each base gold appears roughly the same number of times, I think it would be safe to assume that it is random. |
