In this fight i used the rune on my frontier ursaries but it did not steal chastise from ogre magi.
Any idea why? |

Well in essence, you can only steal a holy buff on a creature if that creature has a pre-existing buff on it. You can't steal spells from a (potential) caster.
In your battle, if your ursaries had attacked cyclops king (instead of orge magi) with the rune of magical attraction in play, then yes, your ursaries would now have that chastise buff. |
When a creature affected by this rune attacks the targeted enemy stack it “steals” a random Holy magic spell from it if available. The spell is removed from the target and is applied to the attacker for the same duration as it was on the target.
The important part is "spell is removed from the target and is applied to the attacker" |
