Author | Hero campaign with enchanted arts: do enchantements stacks? |
I would like to try out a campaign at hero level (lvl 8 dark elf) and I was thinking to use this opportunity of discounted enchanted artifacts.
However I would like to be sure to have understood the enchantment effects right and that they do stack.
To be specific:
1) WEAPONS ELEMENTAL DAMAGE: do I get +20% if I use e.g. enchanted Sword of Might + Dagger of Vengeance?
2) WEAPONS IGNORE DEFENCE: is defense reduced to D*0.8? (Or at least D*0.9*0.9=D*0.81)
3) ARMOUR DECREASE ATTACK: is attack reduced to A*0.6 (or at least A*0.66) with 4 enchanted armours? Does this apply to all attacks or only melee or even only melee attacks with some charging ability (tooltip measleading)
4) ARMOUR MAGIC SHIELD: is spell damage reduced to dmg*0.2 (or at least dmg*0.41) with 4 armours?
5) SPELL DMG BONUS: is spell damage or nature spell efficiency increased to dmg*1.6 (or dmg*1.7??) with 3 items?
6) IGNORE MAGIC SHIELD: is it decreased by 90% (or some other exotic stacking) with 3 items? Do this apply to generic magic resistance coming from other sources (e.g. Cape of Arcane Prot.)
A side note: while (1) seems very effective in any combat, all the others looks very situational (e.g. even the weapons ignore defense effect has a small impact vs. combats without enemy hero and with many creatures with low defense)
Sorry for the long post but I think that this covers all the questions of newbies on enchants, and thanks for any reply! |
Well this one was easy to answer, enchants don't work in campaigns :P |
Also if you want answers for your questions for other battles I am not quite sure about them so I will let others answer them, still some basic idea I have about them:
1) No, it's calculated some other way... it's always less than the sum. So if you have 3*10% it will be less than 30%(just a bit less though).
2) I am quite sure you don't just add them... most likely D*0.9*0.9=D*0.81
3) A*0.66... also not sure if it's only melee, it may also work against ranged.
4) dmg*0.41 most likely, but keep in mind ignore resistance will ignore most of it.
5) Not sure about this one.
6) This is not additive either I believe. If you have 50% magic resistance and two arts with 20% ignore resistance each, in total you would ignore 36% of 50%, so you would ignore 18%, 32% resistance will still apply. Do this apply to generic magic resistance coming from other sources (e.g. Cape of Arcane Prot.) Yes. |
Ops I missed that...
Does it mean that Hero campaigns are still doable with artifact shops? (I found not easy even the "easiest" campaign... well I was not really wearing the most powerful artifacts for the level)
Or maybe you really need special items coming e.g. from events and no way without them?
Sorry for changing the topic, but since I did this nice list, can I have an answer about enchantments in general?
Thanks again |
I'm on mobile atm, but Random (or someone else), it may be easier to explain if you just provide battle links to our defences where people wear enchants to show the effect of wearing multiple enchants. |
Thanks randomr1 for the extra answer (my previous reply was in between)
So I leave it open for a while if somebody else has some more details on the math. |
Campaigns are doable in shop arts, no other arts needed. if you lose the same battle 3 times it gets easier. You could try using a potion of skill for then to increase your FSL. also keep in mind the same recruitment and talent set up may not be effective for every battle. |

If you look at Cip, he has two enchants, it hopefully shows you how they stack. |
1)19% = 1-(0.9)*(0.9)
2)1-D*0.9*0.9=0.19 (Same as above)
3)1-(.9*.9*.9*.9)= 0.34 decrease (It decrease attack so it work both range or melee)
4)same as above (assume 10%), that will give 34% increase magic damage
5)the same way. efficiency increase 48.8% (3x 20% arts equip) (I forgot nearest or round off)
6)all the same way. Ignore resistance 65.7% ignore (3x 30% arts)

Facing magic resistance and ignore resistance in normal attack
Assume magic resistance 50% and ignore 60%,
Final effect is 20% magic resistance. |
