can anyone suggest how to play barbarians?
what is the best alt faction for thieving?

is defensive barb good?(other than shadow) | In my personal experience facing all sorts of Barbs, I have never seen a defensive Classic/Fury barbarian. Probably because Barbs are a completely might based faction with fast shooters and very good melee damage units and so must prioritize dealing damage over tanking it.
Morale and offense talents are generally most effective.
Regarding theiving, I will let an actual Barbarian answer that. | | I've used a might Shadow Barb build because Shadow Barbs get a ridiculous amount of Ogres. Have a bit of mana and talents to do mass disruption ray which also gives tribal spirit. I always use fury barb for TG. I think that it is the best. Classic barb works as well though.
What is the talent setup and recruiting that i should go for?
For TG, you should prioritize firebirds, ogres, behemoths and boars. Take a few orcs then take whatever cyclops you can get. Take offense talents (battle fury is a must) then luck talents then leadership talents
For PvP, the hobgoblin build is the way to go. Prioritize orcs, hobgoblins, cyclops, ogres, behemoths then thunderbirds. Take offensive talents (battle fury + archery), defensive talents (vitality for your hobs) and then luck.
