Author | Why aren't additions char's allowed to buy rare sets? |
I don't understand why they are not allowed to buy rare sets. How else are they able to buy rare sets? |
Additional characters are created to figure out how the other factions work, they aren't being created to compete with the other players' MAIN characters for the rare sets |
additionals are not even allowed to buy shop-like special arts ( SoC etc. )
fun fact, even if an additional gets a rare art, say tru buying chests with gold, repair would be huge problem ;) |
Many rare arts have a very flexible value and trading with them opens up for transfer of gold from the additional char to main.
I think the main reason for all restrictions around additional chars is to prevent them form supporting the main chars. |

And as said above, to prevent them to compete with main chars for special features of the game (rare arts, smith's queues, estates, etc.)
Also, they're supposed to have as little impact as possible in both the game's economy and at role-play level. |
The whole point of a additional character as you said was to explore other areas in the game. I created an additional character in order to see how other factions work, but now that I'm level 3, I wanted to quite frankly dominate ;)
Because when I was level three with this main account there was nothing like those rare sets.
I mean I see why thy try to prevent them in order not to encourage transfers between main and additional but to be honest, it's really simply to depict who is cheating or not. And I doubt it would be in anyones interest who spends 700k on a rare set to cheat and get blocked.
I just think it limits the game for older players. |

there are lots of rare set on CL 14 onward. even you can dominate with survilurg or temporal set. thus all your arguments is invalid :) |

I think thats being closed minded given that I want to try new factions and develop them from a lower lever. We shouldn't "suffer" just because some people break the rules... It's clearly stated that there should be no transactions between main and additional... so these other rules about enchanting ... rare sets... purchasing TGI are frankly nothing but restricting. Especially since, it states in the rules that the prices shouldn't vary to much from market prices. But I guess thats just my view.
Thanks for the answers. |
