| if you roll my transfer log back,you can see i have been on and off this game for almost 10 years,i have nothing to do with homm series,i started this out of nowhere because my friend suggested this. i like the game,yet i feel that even the auto battle most of the time makes better choices than i do without it.. hence the topic. am i just bad at this game or is AI just OP? |

AI is certainly better than some players.
In recent event 'Mirror battles', where you were supposed to fight opponent's AI with same army, while he also fights your AI with same army, I had seen many cases in which at both battles - AI won. |
| well,you made me feel slightly better,because now at dungeon caves i obviously press the auto battle button when it is available,yet i watch the fights to the end,and i see that the AI from my side makes choices i never would,and they work better than what i would do at the same situation |

I think you misunderstand AI's strange moves for being better than you? Because outcome wise, your moves should be better in most cases. |

The thing is, not always. Like in this event, when I was using magi early on and I could almost never hit multiple enemies with through shot I thought it was just a coincidence. But now after completing the event I am certain the AI predicts the through shot possibilities exactly and makes sure it never gets hit twice or more by through shot. I'm pretty sure humans can't do that unless it's obvious like a straight line. So yes in some cases AI is better. |

That's not really impressive AI. There's little I in that AI. Basically the game just knows which line is better, not because it predicts it, but because it has access to the exact rules by which to find out the best one since they are part of the game itself. |
I should 3 enemies with magi a handful of times.
In general though, the AI can be fairly predictable in this game, has a couple surprises though. |

Well by predict I meant it just tries to see if the enemy magi can hit more than one stack, and if the magi can, then whether it can be avoided.
for Meshy:
Me too, but sometimes it's not possible for AI to dodge. Or sometimes it is baited to it. For example obviously in first turn before it has even moved it can't do this. |
