AuthorBattlewise wiz racial skill
Ok so I have been getting ahead of myself and working out how to optimise stat points when I hit FL12 for BW.

Can someone please confirm that the bonus rounds to integer values - I am confident that this is the case with the attack bonus, though not sure with the ini since this is less instantly visible.

If they do round then I will aim to have 24 spell power and 5 knowledge for duels. This I think should give +11 attack and +4% ini, the same as a combined spell power of 30 or 31 would do, but allowing me to directly put more stats into defence or attack. I would need to have a combined 32 spell power and knowledge to get +1 attack, though no initiative bonus (unless non integer values of initiative are allowed in which case it is giving a bonus there).

I figure attack and defence are always useful - whereas the difference of 2% less damage reduction and less direct damage output from the fireball will more frequently be worth the tradeoff of an extra 2 attack or defence points for all troops ass there is often overkill on them anyway. The only real risk is then running out of mana - though in a duel I think 5 will normally be enough. I guess the stats won't make a difference in many battles - just the marginal ones it may do. I just like the thinking to be honest.

Help and advise appreciated always :)
i think the attack bonus is rounded down to integar, sp+knowledge 29/30 will increase attack 19, 31 will increase 20.

btw, the multiplier is .66 and .22 for fsl 12.
btw, if you're adding the saved points to attack, then 30, 31, 32 will have the same attack. 29 will give 1 more attack point, though.
Yes thank you, I missed a bracket when I looked at the equation.

How confident are you that it always rounds down?

If it always rounds down then 32 is the more optimal value balancing attack and ini bonus
If it rounds either way to nearest integer then 30 is optimal as would give the same attack and ini as 31 and only one less attack than 32 but for 2 less stat points

I think we get

29 combined gives 19.14 attack and 6.38 ini
30 combined gives 19.8 attack and 6.6 ini
31 combined gives 20.46 attack and 6.82 ini
32 combined gives 21.12 attack and 7.04 ini

Thanks
Just checked myself - it rounds to the nearest integer, but this can be up as well as down as per normal rounding rules.

So 31 is optimum for FL11 (20 attack and 7 ini)

For FL12 31 is not a good combined number of spell power and knowledge - should be 30 or 32 depending upon what you want I guess
Looks like the optimal is 30 then. 32 isn't a bad choice to be safe in case of vermins though as you only lose 1 might parameter.
