Author | Vamp - Lethargized units hit by enemy fireball and spell not removed? |
https://www.lordswm.com/war.php?warid=879378386
I wonder if it is a bug?
Unicorn and ForestB were hit by Unholy vampire (Lethargized)
Later they got hit by enemy mage's fireball, but they still could not move
Is this correct?
If a blinded unit gets hit by spell, then blind is gone, why is this vampire spell still in charge? | Description of 'lethargy' skill does not say anything about magic hit brakes the spell, however in case of 'blind' it is not stated either.
Or I am totally wrong and blinded units can be hit by spells also without breaking the spell? | Blinded Creatures will regain sight after damage is dealt to them! | If a blinded unit gets hit by spell, then blind is gone
Are you sure about this? From what I remember blind cannot be removed by magic, so lethargy probably works the same way. I'll see if I can find a battle where someone hits a blinded stack with magic. | Actually I'll just level up and test it myself :P | Okay never mind, I checked and magic removes blind. So it is possible that magic should remove lethargy also but as you pointed out, it is not clear from the description. | Allow me to make a correction here, and pretend Im intelligent ... XD
- The Lethargy issue:
No, Magic does not remove it at all. Only all the types of "Cleansing" (Dispersion, maybe Cavalry Panacea...), and of course a Physical hit from the UN units/hero or his allies'.
(Random thought) I honestly think Lethargy is way way "OP", 3 Turns is just so much, it can win you the game, unless your ally wakes the target up because he doesnt know.

Yes, a Lethargized target can be abused by Magic :P Its indended, at least here in LWM.
Maybe they should fix that, but in many RPGs "Sleeping" targets can be attacked by Magic aswell and nothing happens, I suppose.
- Blind issue:
Copy paste: 1) Chaos magic cast by ENEMY hero or creature now dispels Blinded / Lethargized. (I changed "Enemy" to Capital letters in purpose)

This was done some time ago to prevent Charmer Elves from Abusing Blinded enemies hard with their Racial skill magic thing.
If a monster is blinded, and his enemy plays Chaos magic on him, it will wake up (There are many CE players in .Com, so if Im wrong, please correct me), for said reason.
I suppose Translation was somewhat wrong, and Lethargy is not affected, but in the somewhat "Translated" Balance Update we got, it says both Lethargy n Blind get removed by enemy Chaos.
What I know, is that UN Nature magic Firewalls do not remove Vamp Lord Lethargy. | I think that lethargy needs a targeting spell to be removed, ie, an area spell like fireball won't do anything, but a lightning or magic Arrow will remove it.
Somebody needs to verify tho, may be wrong on that one. While you are at it, see also if magic punch works the same, never know.. | I could abuse Magic Punch on Sleeping targets.
And its weird, because its "Physical" (A "Spell", but "Physical", not "Magical"). | If You check the battle (i posted above), there is the proof that fireball did not brake the lethargy spell.
Also there is the proof, when my ally casted fireball on blinded sphynx it did brake the blind spell.

I agree... | So this is how it works, its not a bug then? | What, Lethargy? No, it's not affected by Chaos nor Nature.
Blind is removed by Chaos to prevent Charmers from Abusing it with Blind + Spam Lightning of racial as I mentioned.
Thus, it made no sense to make it for Sleep too.
The problem was not Blind itself being "Imba", but the free Lightning Spam that came after.
Sleep/Blind have many other Counters anyway:
Tribal Hero, Dragons' Breath, Magis ... With which you can attack yourself to Wake the unit up. | QATC | closed by RicHunter (2018-02-01 23:30:13) |
