AuthorMagic shield
How is the magic shield calculated? I see in battles, it is not additive, 30% and 20% from 2 items gives only 44% in total. And what about talents?
Let's say you have 30% and 20% magic shield from 2 items, resistance and barrier talent and your unicorns have magic proof ability. What is the final magic shield?
30% resistance means you only get 70% (1 - 0.3) of the damage.
20% resistance means you only get 80% (1 - 0.2) of the damage.

They stack multiplicatively.

So 0.7 * 0.8 = 0.56. Which means you only receive 56% of the damage. That means you have 44% (1 - 0.56) protection.

General formula would look like
1 - (1 - 0.7) * (1 - 0.8) * ...
I think magic shield (talents), magic resistance (items) and magic proof (skill) behave differently, and I fail to understand them well tbh.
For your example, you would have 1-(1-0.3)^2*(1-0.2)^3 = 0.749 = 74.9% magic proof.
for Ipsen:
Yes, the difference between magic shield from talents versus artifacts is that talents protect you from darkness magic as well (so barrier reduces the strength of weakness, delay, etc in addition to protecting you from magical damage). Magic proof (unicorn ability) works the same way.
