magic defense

guys, i put a ticket in the bug section, but now i have an horrible doubt: is there a limit to magic defense for this tournament? Because neither my gear nor part of my talents are showing up, it says that i have 20 magic def, where i ought to have around 50%.. (21% gear + 2x20% talents)

I don't think talents add to magic proof. In fact the talents state magic resistance which is mechanically different (it protects against darkness spells too), you can check wether or not it worked by checking debuff from spells (40% delay is 32% with resitance, if you stack with resistance then It should be a bit more than 24%, like 25 or 26%). Not sure if disrupt is affected, never checked myself but it should likely work the same way.
the gear for lvl 15 that gives 7% each head/body/boots, + resistance and barrier.

The magic damage i received was barely below that of other players who did not have the same talents (or only one of them). So either one (or both) aren't working or there is a cap. And i'd like to know because it does change the strategy.
you should have 49% resistance from talent and equipment + resistance from fsl at all. But also you should know what is pierce through magic resistances
I agree that mostly it was elf Vs elf (except when it would hit me), so the Faction resistance may have played a role there (between elves).

What troubles me is that talent resistances do not appear in the modifiers, only in the talents description it says they have been selected.

Now, i used to assume that the applied modifier would all sum up (like it happens for enchants) in the list, to show the totals. Instead, it just says "20% magic resistance" to all players..

And the first elf did not have imbue arrow, so no piercing, second had it, so 20%. Since they were both starting with 0/0 SP/KN, i assume they had no pierce through gear (which always gives some stats for either).

20% is what you get from gear (1-(0.93^3)).

It is. I cast a disrtupt on a treefolk with a dark withc (advanced so -5). He had magic barier (from luck tree) and was adjacent to unicorn (magic proof). He lost only 3 defense.
