That's a pretty pitiful attempt by me, but my latest idea was to wear a great hunter bow and then use the increased range to shoot the Succubi for full damage. Is that a good idea?
However when they retaliate they deal disgusting damage, how can I block them without sacrificing too much? Is it worth taking Tactics talent in exchange for losing 3 luck?
Any other ideas are appreciated too. Thanks in advance. My setup is cheap on purpose because I don't want to spend too much gold on a battle I'm not sure I can win, if the answer is better gear then fair enough. |
Standard elf thief set up will be fine.
Max efk and sprites and go charging in the middle. Talents in offence and battle fury should be good.
Efk and sprites should do a good amount of damage off the bat and you will be able to shoot the rest |
| This can be pretty easy if you're lucky with your positioning. Be brave an position your efk close; if you can reach succubi on the first turn, you'll win this. Don't split your bowmen. Split your druids in three, so that they can stoneskin efk, unicorns, and, if you can't block succubi, bowmen, and protect the bowmen. A blocked bowman is a useless bowman. |
Elf thief? Sounds like a great set that I probably wouldn't be able to get ahold of unfortunately. I got a nice-looking elf amulet from the "army of cold" event that gives +2 luck +5 initiative that is part of an elf set, seems like a campaign is the best place to use something like that.
Max efk and sprites is like 34 sprites 56 EFK. 19 Bowmen, 8 druid, 8 unicorns left. That what u guys were looking for?
EFK can only reach the center with Tactics talent. Cannot take battle fury (at combat level 8).
I can try not splitting bowmen while rushing the middle as you've said, this will require taking tactics instead of +3 luck or battle fury. Will return with a battle record of the attempt using your guys' help win or lose. Thanks for the assistance, hope it works out. |
| I wouldn't really bother getting more than 3 or 4 druids for stone. Put all bowman in a corner and druids infront of them as a block against large creatures. |

I put the bowmen in that place because with the Great hunter bow they have 8 range and can deal full damage to the succubus stack.
But in that battle it wasn't even needed. Tactics ended up being not very useful since it didn't increase the 2x2 settlement area to a third tile. EFK couldn't reach succubus. However, a sprite cleared the imp that was in the way of EFK which probably saved the fight. Battle ended up an easy win.
This really did feel impossible before both your guys' advice. Thanks again. Hopefully you don't mind if I end up coming back for more help since campaigns are harder than expected. And I'll try to give help whenever I can. |

Try the max sprites and EFK recruiting, EFK put at the bottom center and sprites at the top center. If you can finish succubus in the first turn the rest should be no problem. Try different build when you failed too much, I even build magic guilds for different attempts :) good luck |
I ended up defeating them, the link to the victory is in my second comment.
Because of the bowmen positioned to deal full damage I think there just had to be something blocking the succubus from retaliating or attacking first, but with the EFK able to hit them it ended up being an easy fight.
Got some great advice and would recommend others to try asking for help if they're thinking about giving up on their campaigns. There's actually a ton of stuff unlocked after defeating the first two brigands... |
