Author | Place wagers on CG battles |
You can place wagers of say X gold on a CG mixed battle you have registered for.
You win, you get 0.9X
You lose, you lose X.
Considering how admins are always trying to make CG look more attractive, this might do it.
Wager amounts can be constrained by CG level, similar to Tavern.
This could be part of a special event, or a regular feature. |

Imagine putting down a bet only to lose because your partner is an idiot, or they lose connection. |
maybe for duels. not for mixed. |

I said mixed CG because there should be an element of randomness to it. It would feel wrong if it became an alternative regular source of income for monsters.
If you play well, you'll make money over time, and that's it. |

All of the monsters would have this as a source of regular income because they're monsters in mixed too. |

I would again say no to this, we have so many illegal multis running around that it would be a simple way for a player to transfer some extra gold to himself.
And it won't be a case of "Well we can see if they lost intentionally" it would be a simple case of picking a faction that ruins the enemy. |
After the fsp/exp rebalance, CG doesn't need anything else to make it more attractive. Also, this would be a nightmare to control for exploits.

Do they now? |

For the reasons above.
When I was a kid we used to play for the pure joy of playing I still do, it is more fun.
I don't understand why we have to get more rewards to play something it's not a job, we play because we want to pass our time not because we have to feed our family. |
Also something no one mentioned yet:
Queu times will be longer, or wont work at all.
Or the Match Making will be WAY WAY worse (... Than it is now... xD)
Why?
Because you are adding Filters, in a situation where the 'Player Pool' in CG, is already very small.
(Not 'A LOT' of people play CG, and by 'A lot' I mean barely some Dozens, spread between the 22 CLs).
I mean, you would split the Player Pool between:
A) Players who are betting.
B) Players who arent betting.
So if its hard to get a 'Decent' Match Making now, imagine if you add more Filters to 'Split' the Player Pool even more. |
I don't think you need a pool. People earn based on what they bet, against empire, and not against each other.
To answer some above points, consider bets involved for tavern. It doesn't make it any less fun. |
Why make a strategy game a gabbling bet game? |

not needed. There are already rewards for tournaments giving out bronze freebies if you care about gold. CG is fun the way it is, and especially after the recent exp changes, it does not need any more special treatment. |
for virtual_vitrea:
new years mixed tournament wasnt all skill based |
No battle is completely skill based, always some element of luck. |
for Meshy:
when there is no mid lvls at gold medals how do i call it luck? |
new years mixed tournament wasnt all skill based
So it is unfair you say, but as a tournament type its occurrence is rare. Unless you are claiming its hard to get gold out of the many that happen all year round, i don't see how this one being luck based is of much relevance.
Now in all honesty, you and me should admit that in cg as well the kind of partners you get, their faction/class/builds being competent against enemy can be once again construed to be a simple luck (or maybe not if you are adamant or have a self serving bias). So as Meshy said,No battle is completely skill based, always some element of luck. In fact, luck is skill and your skill is a matter of luck :) |

its not an excuse to have those crazy mms. |
