Author | asking for repair from other players |
Do you typically contact the selected blacksmith before sending the item to repair, e.g. to ask if he can/want to repair your item?
I assume that a player advertising his/her blacksmith skill in the trade forum is in the business and one can just send the item to him and he knows what to do, but I wonder what is the "etiquette" for these services.
I have also noticed that the transfer interface have a nice option "transfer for repair" that helps you to calculate the required money for the service. And apparently you pay a commission in addition to the blacksmith fee. I guess that I can just use this interface option and everything is done in the correct way... |
I think it's usually fair to send the person a PM if it's the first time you use their service and you're not that familiar with them (I.e. no previous interactions).
On the interface, the commission is just the 1% tax the empire takes for all transfers.
I'm a trainee Smith and I don't really care either way. |
I would say that since the option to transfer for repairs means the money is automatically sent to the smith there is less reason to send a mail, as they can just cancel the transfer without having to return gold.
But again it may be worth asking how long the queue is if you need the repair fast |
Everything done. Thanks |
