Caster Damage

Hi,

I'm trying to understand damage from Spell Casters.

Playing Leaders Guild, 2 Cyclops Shaman did 123 damage using Meteorite Rain.

I looked in the "About the game" section and found this formula:

Deal 1+36*N0.7 earth damage to each stack in a 4x4 area.

But if N=2, how do we get to 123?

This is the formula for pit demons which for some reason have an useless version of meteorite rain. The FAQ only updates slowly and does not have the formula for cyclops, though now you know it's a painful version.

This is not how monster spell formulae work.
Cyclop shamans have an ability that gives them x4 spell power for each unit in the stack instead of 1.

I think that’s the missing info.
I may be mistaken and just thinking of another creature. But pretty sure that’s it

Even without catalyst ability, their damage is higher. The damage formula for individual troops needs to be updated.
Actually it could be accurate with catalyst. If 2 cyclop shamans cast at expert chaos with 3 targets in the 4x4 area, then each target takes 123 dmg.

If they cast at advanced chaos With 2 targets in the 4x4 area, then each target takes 123 dmg
By looking his replay, shamans casted on single target, so ok. It doesn’t checkout :D
The damage from troops use a different fixed base damage as well as a different multiplier for the amount of troops. Lastly it does not scale proportionnaly to SP/amount of troops but by power 0.7.

Then a same spell can have different formula depending on the casting unit (fireball, magic punch).
Every caster that possesses chaos spell has its own damage formula. There are no units with same damage formula (at least I dont think so). Same for magic punch, each magi has diffirent damage. Cyclop shamans only get catalyst if they reach tribal spirit 2, similar to sky shamans. This increases their base damage.
