Greetings from heroeswm.ru!
Players from the Russian community totally understand that you guys receive less information and less social interactions from the game. After a recent topic created in our equivalent forum thread, the problem became more pronounced.
Thus, there was a suggestion to merge our forums together. (https://www.heroeswm.ru/forum_messages.php?tid=2798295&page=last)
I kindly ask you to participate in this discussion and probably suggest ways of merger implementation.
We don't lose hope that the administration occasionally reads this forum thread! Hopefully, neither do you :) |
| I think we should be able to access .ru forum from .com and the other way around without having to login to heroeswm but merging the 2 might not work as a lot of players do not speak Russian/english and it would get too confusing |

Translations have became better and quicker with the help of radiant mag. It shows how important it is to have russian talking friends of .com. |

Yep, that's the first problem that comes to mind. It would be great if we had 2 options available in game settings after the proposed merger comes into force:
1) Show the message as it is - for those players who speak both languages
2) Offer a translation - for those people who experience problems understanding Russian / English. I am not an expert, but I feel like it's possible to integrate Google Translate service into the game forum |

This would be an excellent idea.
The major problems as I see them now are that
1) We need to logout/login to hwm to be able to post messages. This is actually why I don't post there at all, even though I spend a lot of time reading hwm forum.
2) No native translation. Safari doesn't even have a google translator plugin. I must switch to chrome every time for translating hwm forums. It would be very easy to integrate translation into the forums itself, without having to rely on external services.
Major benefit:
The .com community is small. It gets a breath of fresh air every time someone like you comes over from .ru side.
Making it easy for people like you (Russians who can speak English) would be a big boost to the activity levels in this forum. |
No thanks.
Make a button where we don't have to log in/log out to access both forums.
That way we can choose to participate in both forums.
Merging the forums would ruin this entire little community we have here. |

There are probably 100 and more russian people who can post in .com forums in english. Now they do not know we even have a forum. |

I see many are against the idea on russian forum. I'm not suprised tgough it is sad. There are some absolutley wonderfull guys in russia who are open minded but there are also some who are very much against anything that smells non-russian. Well...like everythere with every nation. They simply do not see our problems and if they do not see it - it does not exists. Simple.
I am glad that we are getting some friends on .ru side. Maybe in time things will change. But like everything...it will take some time. |

I think if they are to align the forum aspect, then it should be an alignment of the whole thing in one go. This is best with various difficulties I am sure, though would also over time avoid various issues.
Really there should be one central log in for all, with you then selecting your language choice. This would avoid the disparity between some event timings around certain holidays, translation delays and allow better mixing between the respective communities, it may even be possible to do the various text quests or battle quests that some newer players probably do not even know exist on .ru since they are absent on .com.
As such while I welcome a more fundamental integration, I would prefer if this was done fully, rather than only in the forums. |

Guys ... You should understand that those 2-3 xenophobes are as disgusting to us as they are to you. Most of the Russian players are in favor of the proposed merger. We truly want HMM fanbase to grow. I was so damn surprised that there are still people who are absolutely against progress. But note that those people are utterly inactive players with the sole purpose to breed hatred.
We just need to keep those threads 'alive'. Admins (How do you call them BTW? Game masters?) are surprisingly active nowadays and they finally give feedback. There is hope, guys! |
I am against the idea of a merged forums simply because the RU players outnumber us by a ton, especially on the forums. A merged forums simply means a russian forum and everything will be discussed in russian from there on.
What I think is a better idea is instead of wiping out our forum, create a button which removes the need to log out from com server and then log in to RU server to access separate forums and vice versa of course. Place a button that says "to english forums" and "back to RU forums", and vice versa of course.
Lets be honest, if you wipe english forums and merge the forums, we will probably get our own subforum and we can discuss there. That is also an option I guess. |
In fact after posting ^^^ above, I have come to think that merging the forums and giving english players are own subforum would work well too. As long as the buttons are all in English, I am good with this. It would save the time logging out and in to RU website in order to access their forums for information too.
I am ok with using google translate too, but I much rather communicate in english :)

Kchong that is what we are talking about. There can be no mergwd forum where we will all talk in both languages. It would be chaos. However we can have subforum where english is main language. This way we can expand our own forum. I know many many russian people who would.like to post here but it is difficult switching between .ru and .com. Also there are many many players from countries like moldova, ukraine, georgia, lithuania and so on who speak good russian and english but do not even know .com exists. .com is really small but potential is huge.
