I used a calculator I found, but wanted to check before I invested in new equipment.
Is it correct that with a sword of cold at market price of 121000 for 85/85 that it is cheaper in the long run to buy a new sword than repair the two SoC I have that are at 0/47 and 0/48 given that repair cost it 90% for 101% of repair cost.
As I read it the price starts to gradually increase from this point from approx 300 CpB. Perhaps useful to keep them as insurance to fill battles while main one is being used, since the price increase is not stark to begin with, just wanted confirmation from those that perhaps do this calc more often for clan depositories etc.

Your cpb is at around 318 at the point of 0/47 (if 1% transfer commissions for repairs are accounted for). It will always be your choice if that kind of price is acceptable for you or not. I'd still use it, especially if the price is cheaper than my clan's depository price (looking at A&D Sword of Cold price of 359, it seems acceptable to keep using that one well until 0/22 :D). |
By repairing a 0/47 sword you pay 17776 gold (101 %) for getting 42 more battles (47 * 0.9 rouded down). This is 423 gold per battle. Clearly you would lose quite a lot of gold by using them further.
I recommend buying a new SoC and throwing it away at the right moment (which depends on purchasing price, but is close to 0/59 with a 120,000 gold 85/85 sword. |

No point to repair above circa cpb 350 because you can lease from depository any time at 359 gold/battle.
Depending in soc price, I estimate that it is best time to buy new one at 0/59-0/62. |
| Thanks for the advice, I thought I may have overshot the best point to ditch. I have bought a new one, but like the freedom of having a spare for when the main one is in repair. As such I will gradually use the old ones (which I had already repaired) as backups till they die and then buy a second. |
