Why does the game state to not have multiple accounts, but this is a switch accounts button??

You can have multiple accounts but any additional accounts to your main one have severe restrictions.

If you have any, please read what those restrictions are like no sending/receiving gold, no sending to smiths, no estate renting etc. etc.
