Heroic honor and self-forgetful devotion to duty are born not only in the lands of the Empire, but far beyond its borders. Or even, beyond the edge of this world, in the realm of eternal cold where Queen Winter reigns supreme. Many legends have been made about this harsh land, mainly of the fruitless attempts of the outsiders to conquer it. And yet, among the countless numbers of stories, one may also find those glorifying the cold valor and icy courage of the formidable guardians of Winter — the legendary Lords and Ladies of the Jotuns, the commanders of the frost force and the cold fury.
Lords and Ladies! The Empire invites each one of you to take part in a new exciting tactical and strategic adventure! Don’t miss the chance to take on the role of a fierce frost guardian of the Jotuns, who selflessly carries out the duty entrusted to him. Begin your expedition across the snow-covered wastelands of the world of eternal cold — and your legend will live on through the thick age-old glaciers!
Memo for rising legends:
- All Lords and Ladies from combat level 5 may test their luck in this expedition;
- Only shop artifacts are allowed, enchantments have no effect;
- Personal armies and talents are unavailable, you may battle only with the provided for the event troops of the Jotuns faction, and not only them;
- New! The character of this adventure, Lord Kayrn, has his own combat level while having the parameters of your main character, and that includes parameters from your artifacts and Guild levels. Lord Kayrn’s starting level is 1. Experience can be received in any event battle;
- New! With each level up, Lord Kayrn will automatically increase one of his parameteres in strict order: Attack, Defense, Knowledge, Spell Power;
- Important! Spell Power parameter, carried from your main character and artifacts, is limited to 6. This limitation, however, can be overcome by the increases in parameters you get during the expedition;
- New! Besides experience, Lord Kayrn will also receive faction skill points, increasing his faction skill level, starting at level 0. Each victory yields +1 skill point, and defeats yield +0.5 skill points;
- New! The Jotuns’ racial ability is "Piercing Frost": all attacks of the lord’s army units, including magic attacks, inflict –1 attack, –1 defence, and –1% initiative on the target for [1 + faction skill level / 10] turns. The effect accumulates with each new attack, but no more than [1 + faction skill level] times;
- Important! Parameters from your main faction skill, anti faction, and from Potion of skill have no effect;
- New! Upon reaching combat level 5, Lord Kayrn will gain access to a unique wheel of talents and receive 10 points to distribute in it freely. Each subsequent level will be providing additional 5 points;
- New! The Jotuns’ central talent is "Fury of cold": all units in the lord’s army deal 3% more damage for each active "Piercing Frost" effect;
- Separately, your main character will receive experience as well as skill points for the current faction;
- The main action will unfold across the frosty wastelands. The campaign map is divided into 12 locations. Each one contains multiple points of interest, the capture of which may bring a tactical or strategic advantage. The more valuable and crucial points of interest are guarded by enemy troops. To move to the next location, you must defeat the enemy leader’s army blocking your path;
- To complete the expedition, you have to defeat the main leader who is challengeable at the final location;
- Important! All already open locations and points of interest within them will remain available to visit at any time until the expedition is over;
- The points of interests may be found either guarded or left unattended. They may be a site for resources or hireable creatures, as well as various structures that can provide bonuses to characteristics (temporary and constant) or a constant influx of resources;
- Some points of interest are various lairs that serve as a nearly endless source of random resources or reinforcements, but the enemies in these lairs become stronger with each victory over them;
- Important! Actions on the expedition map are limited by "event days". Each such "day" represents 2 points of action that can be used to visit points of interest or open the next location. If desired, a "day" can be skipped, however unspent action points are not carried over to the next "day";
- Important! The maximum possible number of "event days" is 144;
- Resources can be spent on building and upgrading your garrison, as well as recruiting new creatures in the corresponding buildings. Actions in the garrison do not use up action points;
- Important! The Magic School provides access to spells of the corresponding guild level of Chaos and Holy magic at basic talent level. School’s maximum level is 4. Spells can be strengthened with the corresponding magic talents, but don’t forget the limitation on Spell Power;
- Important! New creatures in the garrison will appear according to their growth rate only after the building is constructed. The sooner the construction, the more potential recruits you can hire;
- Important! The recruited army is not lost forever and is restored completely at the end of a battle;
- Important! The overall scoring will be done based on the following three indicators: primary, the number of defeated leaders (maximum is 12); secondary, the number of "event days" spent (the fewer, the better); tertiary, the number of actions performed (the fewer, the better);
- You can reset all your progress and start the journey anew once you reach the third location. All enemies, including the leaders, and points of interests will be changed up randomly. You can only reset up to two times. On a reset, it will not be possible to re-acquire already obtained rewards, but the experience and faction skill points received in repeated battles will be reduced by three times;
- On the first day, you are able to explore the first two locations for which 24 "event days" are allotted. Each subsequent day will unlock two new locations and allot additional 24 "event days";
- Defeating the main leader locks your final position in the rankings. Afterwards, an option to continue the event becomes available, allowing you to remain on the campaign map to collect the remaining resources (your ranking will not be affected);
- You will have 10 days to complete the expedition, through January 15 inclusive;
- The main battle reward can only be obtained by defeating the leaders. This reward may include: gold, diamonds, elements, creature armaments, Mercenaries’ and Watchers’ Guild points, as well as special artifact parts:
Throughout the entire expedition you may yield parts of War Cloak (up to 10) and Fear Robe (up to 10). As well as up to 10 additional parts of War Cloak, depending on individual performance.
When the event is over, the Empire will bestow additional gold and a trophy artifact to those who have defeated at least the 2nd leader. The artifact’s durability and the sum of gold will depend on your final ranking.
Extremely important! During this event, the "Battle Exhaustion" system is in effect. Starting from the 15th turn of any battle, the Lords’ and Ladies’ talents ‘Mana recovery’ and ‘Spirit link’ will cease to function. The same will hold for the abilities ‘Life drain’ and ‘Battledive’ for the units in the Lords’ and Ladies’ armies. Additionally, all enemy units will gain the ability ‘Attentive’, and an increase in initiative and speed. Notifications corresponding to this exhaustion will appear as a warning 1 turn before and at the onset of exhaustion.
- The top 75 military clans and all their active members will be specially rewarded. The rewards will be determined by the clan rankings, where a clan’s final result will equal to the sum of scored points of its top 100 members;
- The clan rewards will be granted to all non-blocked members who will have defeated the 12th leader;
- If a Lord or Lady leaves or is evicted from their military clan, the clan loses all of that member’s points. If the member rejoins the clan, their points are returned to the clan’s score;
- Leaving the clan on the last day of the event and before the award ceremony is forbidden;
- Admission to military clans from the second day of the event is limited to three players per day;
- Important! Once you defeat the 6th leader, you will be temporarily unable to join any military clan until the event is over.
