Anyone ever tried a mass poison build as dark demon? This might be very powerful combined with the berserk spell, but I don't know if dark demons have enough HP to survive long enough.
What recruitement is better at level 9 for normal demon? I'm still not sure which combination is the strongest, so I need some help..

when accepting a quest see the level of the threat
eg-
Factory of aspiration is invaded by a Shrew monster "(2)" it kills anyone who dares to come near it

At your level i recommend going for <0-1> difficulty quests if u want to win, avoiding monster quests at your level would be best

at level 7, you have
-spawns, demons, wolfhounds and succubi
-20 talent points

for talents, the 2 best options are:
1 advanced fortune
2 basic defense and vitality


Elf is by far the hardest opponent at level 7.
Your best chance to beat an elf is with chaos magic.

for MIN AP battles
skill points: all in spellpower and knowledge (a little more spell power than knowledge)
talents: basic chaos magic and dominion of tempest (then magic arrow will slow down the target)
recruits: max demons, medium wolfhounds (to get best combination of a lot of HP with high defense)
equipment: cape against shooters, weapon and maybe shield or boots or helmet
hope that elf has 20 mana, so your spawns can drain it
keep demons and succubi in 1 big stack - your small stacks should be big enough for 100% sure gate of at least 1 creature. for you that is 3.
try to set up so it looks like you will go attack
gate everything right in front of your main stacks (using gates to block shooters does not work, unless lvl7 elf is realy stupid)
use magic arrow on elven bowmen 1st turn
hit defend with all stacks except succubi (if they are alive, succubi shoot any stack without stoneskin on it)
...
carefully check the inibar to see which stacks are just after forest keeper (always check and scroll the inibar as much as possible)
...
Keep defending and use magic arrow on elven bowmen and druids 2nd and 3rd turn, Forest Keepers should be hitting you hard by now... if not then you are lucky.
When FK are in range of your stack of demons, you should try to take retal of FK with a small stack (right after FK had a turn without morale)
Then hit them with everything (also magic arrow, to slow them down a bit)
...
Maybe you are still shot and killed... And maybe you can win now.

for FULL AP battles
skill points: all in spellpower and knowledge
equipment: magic weapon, rings, helmet and armor - Master hunter maskrobe(!) - pendant of despair - defensive shield and boots
..
for the rest, you could try the same as above
..

..
talents: basic chaos magic and hellfire
recruits: max demons - all others sort of evenly (try to get as much total hp as possible. defense now mainly comes from equipment, not from creatures basic stats)
keep demons in 1 big stack, the other stacks should all be divided to have equal total hp.
set up for attack
if elf has max druids, then gate everything close to enemy and then rush attack (and pray for hellfire)
if elf has max forest keepers, then use same tactic as with MIN AP, but start attacking FK with your stacks as soon as FK has hit you.

I tried mass poison at levels 10-11.
Especialy for standard pvp, mass delay/confusion worked out a lot better for me... the poison just did not kill fast enough.

For dual thief ambush, i think mass poison can be very good. a few small stacks of blazing hounds will keep the enemy grouped at first turn
(i did not try it yet, i certainly will.)

For the new year snake hunts i thought about using poison, i regret that i did not actualy do it.

For survilurg battles, poison is good in the endgame
I don't think it is worth to focus on high spellpower for mass poison, i never tried it though... (and i don't think i will)
i am realy looking forward to try berserk spell at level 14...

i prefer might, but yes chaos demon can be very good at lower levels, especialy in 1vs1
At level 7-9 chaos demon is better overall than might demon **in 1vs1**
And when they fight eachother, chaos demon will almost always beat might demon (i have seen this in all tournaments during those levels)

most important for chaos demon: recruit max demons!!!

against shooters: click on defend very often

against melee: let them come to you. use your gates for retal and hit with demons (this needs intelligent play: gate to stay alive... waste your gates and you will loose.)

against other mages: go attack them and try to be on the other side with ALL melee stacks at the same time around the 3rd combat turn (this is very difficult)

Your current setup is very good (but you should use 3 hounds instead of 2)

max horses
max incendiaries (maybe a few less than max)
3 small stacks of spawns
hounds/succubi whichever you prefer

It realy helps if your small stacks are big enough to survive 1 hero hit.
In any case, your small stacks should be big enough for a 100% guaranteed gate of at least 1 creature (at faction level 5 this means that your small stacks should have at least 3 creatures.)
starting from faction level 8, a stack of 2 is enough for a 100% guaranteed gate of 1 creature
(then you have 20+8*4=52% gate)

Gating is not rounded to nearest number, it is somehow chance based, but the result is always between the 2 nearest integer numbers


Even with faction level 1, a stack of 1 can sometimes gate 1 (most of the times it will fail to gate)
20%+1*4% = 24% 24% of 1 = 0.24 but it is still possible that you gate 1

Even with faction level 7 a stack of 2 can fail to gate (almost always it will gate 1)
20%+7*4% = 48% 48% of 2 = 0.96 but it is still possible that you fail to gate
I'm highly doubting to become a demon once I reached FSL 5 DE. What are your opinions on lvl 8-10 demon? I'm mainly an AI battler, but do enjoy PvP every now and then.

For me, the pro's are:

fun units
more tactics involved
alt. demon, so more variety

the con's are:

Coins
No more ST high rankings due to low FSL
