| I am coming up to lvl 5 and would like to grab 1 knowledge to cast spells is there a default spell power (mainly asking will there be a default one round effect if your spell power is azero) ie duration | There is.

For damage spells, SP is considered zero. So, for example, magic punch would deal 20 damage.
For duration spells, like Rapid, SP equals 0.5, so the spell effect will last 0.5 turns (i.e. exactly half the time between two turns of your hero).
