It doesnt change:) Maybe it alows people to level up faster. But you can still win like that. And who will buy fashion changes 0.o
i just hope they don't introduce some ridiculous items like double your attack or something. would make facing a barbarian kinda pointless XD
but there is another server so i'm sure they've had time to get it right there :)
i agree with frozenfire, i hope there wont be a feature were u can pay to get better because it will just ruin the balance.

yes the admins will gain more money and it will be good for them but what about the people who dont want to waste their money on a game? They will ALWAYS be at a disadvantage against the ppl who will pay.
Yes it would but not as major as you think. I think they have more benefit from people that actually provide them money other from the people who dont.
I know the point of the game for the developers is to eventually make money. But please, please, don't make it the kind of game where you can continuously buy small things to help give you an advantage. No game should give an advantage to people who can pay more money than others. It ruins perfectly good games like Travian.

Instead, try something like selling a Plus account. For a set fee each month or year, people who buy the Plus account could get extra tools that help make the game more convenient for them - like better ways to see information or organize things.

Or maybe let the people who buy the Plus account have access to extra games in the Tavern to keep them busy while waiting for armies. It would be great to have more card games or other types of mini games.

Just don't make it so paying money gives an advantage within the game.

well to me..paying to get better in terms of fighting skills in not good..
but if its like extra gold or extra exp...then i dont really mind...
they did not pay to get stronger than those within the same levels...
they pay so that they can save some time rather than sitting in front of their pc the whole time...
the cons to that is...they lack the fun of levelling and they will not be as experienced as normal players..
cosmetics is kind of a good idea...there are lots of fanatics u know..
paid accounts to fund a server is a must..
but if there will be one...let it be from term to term..like 1,3,6,12 month...paid account for extra exp,gold,managent,ore's and stuffs, and discounts on buying items..

There is no such thing as a free lunch

So someone will have to make some money out of this game at some point.
there are expenses to run it (like a server for example and well, most sane people I know wont work on a hobby for more than say well 2 weeks).

and well, selling light axes is not really going to pay the bill
(neither do the hauberks), so some kind of payed for advamtages will enter the game, live with it!!!!!!.

just hope it will not be gamebreaking advantages and emjoy the free game you have.

there is no way to stop marketing, but well, that's free economy.

if u disagree, go live in a box or an uninhabited isle
Well who says it has to one side or the other? Why not make it so that you could pay for the armor/wepons that you want?
(e.g. if you want a complete set of hunters you can buy it from a shop or go hunt for it)

Then make pay for clan features like if/when the guild vs. guild gets running make it so that if a clan wanted an added bonus to the battle they have to pay for it?

It would still make the game fair and keep it fun for all the people who want to play Heros of War and Money
Paying players could buy gold for real money (but not the other way though, as it would for example turn roulette into a real cash game). Or, they could pay for special items like a "scroll of learning" giving x2 experience for 24 hours, or something like that.

Giving money would not lead to unbeatable armies but simply a faster path.
The 5 main options to use real money will be as follows:

-get gold;
-get a possibility to construct upgraded (and only upgraded) constructions of your castle a few levels earlier;

I really like all but the second option. That would give a huge advantage to those that pay. I'd rather have items that may help you level up faster as others suggested before.
Hmmm, lessee. Note that I plan to become a paying player.

-> get plenty of artifacts, hence sick +Att +Def +Luck bonuses... Free players are at a disadvantage in battle (at level 3-4 few players are completely incompetent). No thanks.

-> get stronger units earlier, hence ruling over free players. No thanks.

-> good idea, there are so many name change requests around...

-> good idea. Expand choices and branches for paying players.

-> ultimate fashion stuff. I won't take it but if others do, why not?

We're not in hurry. I stick to my guns: paying players should not have an advantage in battle (directly or indirectly, through artifact purchase for example). The only in-game advantage I see would be some faster experience acquisition (hunters's licence, battle xp bonus). Sure, paying players would gain level faster but they'd still meet free players of adequate skill.
I've seen other online games where players could purchase amount in an alternate currency with real money, say "platinum coins" for example. Some items were only sold with this currency. You could already sell potion of oblivion, potion of healing (restoring full health), hunter's license with this alternate currency. You could have an item allowing you longer working hours in a factory.
You could have the ability to destroy castle structure to bring back resources (useful when switching factions).

Battle would still be even between free and paying people - the most important point IMHO - but paying would bring you some advantage in comfort.
