AuthorSkills - Why being so afraid?
Skills have just been released and they look as if HWM creators were afraid of letting players use them. As a result, you only get 5*(level-3) skill points, meaning that you can only get your first skill at level 5 and that most skills _will be forever out of reach_.

So, why not let people use skills?

I suggest you get 10 skill points per level from level 1.

Even with that, a level 12 player would be far from having skill mastery - the smallest talent wheel, the barbarian one, requires 305 skill points to be completed! - but at least low to mid-level players could experiment skills and combinations instead of waiting forever.
the idea is: you CANT learn all skills.

you have to specialized on some which suit to your playing style.
Have you ever bothered to read the proposal?

The game would be more interesting if you had more skills.

I'm dreaming about the game, which could offer hundreds or even thousands of skills!
I like games with very complex system of skills.

Also, this game has only several spells and several artifacts. Why?

My wish:
1) Thousands of skills
2) Thousands of spells
3) Thousands of artifacts
that = a TON of programming = more programmers = more money, you wanna give money to play? be my guest
:D most people will end up sticking to a single artifact or spell anyway (the strongest one)
7. It's indeed a problem but the talent system is too fresh for the moment (even on the .ru server it's what, two months old?) I sincerely hope the talent system will be tweaked so more than one build is possible. But this leads to:

5. We don't need thousands of spells, skills and artifacts. We need some. There are enough already, the problem for talents is that they are unavailable to 90% of players. For the moment, few players are high level enough to get 1 skill, and a handful of them can get 2. It's not serious to speak of a "talent system" with such a low access to it.
Idea is not good i think... after all you have to specialice^^ BUT would be good if you would get more Skill Points if you have a higher lvl^^ (like 5 * lvl - 4 Skill Points or lvl* Skill Points)

i agree you will not get enough points ever to get the most out of even one skll branche, but I also think specializing is a good idea.

switching to the homm method is a big no for me (one per lvl up?, choice of 2?).

but I think there need to be
a: a way of gaining more skill points (say +X per faction level), as a result of quests or whatever
or
B: specialize by making a choice for a branche and every next skill on it = -1 pts cost,

or c: specialize and set that branch to 5 pts a skill

to make a choice is fine with me, cannot have it all, can we?

Sure, getting one skill per level is a simple and neat system, but HWM creators decided to make things more complicated with "easy" skills and "hard" skills, their cost going from 7 to 12. Therefore, specialization of a faction in a given branch is already present.

We just need more skill points, no matter how they come from. I thought that 10*level would be fine just because it mostly ensures that you get at least one skill per level (2 skills every fourth level if you only take "cheap" skills costing 7), and more over it's a very simple solution.

But for the moment, being able to achieve a single branch only at level 14 is ludicrous - in my humble opinion.
I think 5 - 15 skill points a level from level two would be fine, remove the basic parameter increase while your at it.
I agree with the original proposal that the talent wheel is fine the way it is, if you could have all skills, certan factions would be overpowered, choosing the right skills is part of the strategic experience.

especially the bit abould char lvls giving tp as well

also the necro defence talent ashould be decresed to 9 and something like the sorcery one increased to 10 tp.
i also think that we need more skill points maybe not double but as a nero to get the concentration deffence talent you would need to be lv 17 (if thats even possible) my suggestion would be to get rid of the -3 and just have it as 5*combat level (basicly an extra 15 points) this would give the game more tactical (guessing on the spelling)
