Man, Recently I got a mercenary task to silent hill, but just to take over a cargo. No battle at all, no blood and no arts durability wasted. So much strange, But I got 25 gold and 0.5 skill points. Man, anyone ever got like this too ??

this is the kind of task you get that goes with an ambush.
Actually, the ambush might just not happen, if your hero doesn't match the needed conditions (look at the thieve's ambush, i think this is the same basis). Maybe, but this is just an hypotetical case, the ambush has a small chance of not happening at all.. Even if i always got one when delivering something ^^ |
thats possible, the quest was to deliver it, theres a small chance that they wont attack you =)

| Yeah, I go into those merc missions art less. With the new standards I consider it a free battle ;) It does happen every so often. I have also learned that there is a small chance of getting ambushed several times if you choose to go to multiple locations before the final destination. It's a good way to rack up some skill and experience; granted you win all of them. Lose one and you fail the mission. |
