Author | A fair solution to the resource shortage problem? |
My problem is not with people buying up resources. Lazier-faire capitalism is fine with me. 8-) My problem is buying mercury is a competition of quick fingers in the two seconds after a shift ends. And it seems it's always the same few people who manage to get them in non-trivial amounts.
Where I came from, factories of scarce products often reserve a potion of the output to employees. I think this practice, if introduced to this game, can solve lots of problems. E.g., if the game guarantees that one can buy one mercury for every three shifts worked at the lab, I'd be happy to work there to meet my own needs. On the other hand, there are bound to be impatient people to whom the hoarders can still sell.
Just my 2 cents. |
Sounds nice to me, but how about it takes a portion of what you make instead, like 33%, so at Lv1(were you make on) you make the normal 1 for the facility and it remebers that 33% of the one resource, so after the 3 shift(lets just say that you get that 1%free) it puts the one you make this time off to the side for you to buy. this way when you get your labor up you make one for you self more often. |
i think u should be able to buy everything you make maybe -1 or something. |
I guess that's the first reasonable approach on how to implement workers priority. I think something in between one third to one fifth is sufficient to allow every worker to acquire the resources he need over time and the rest is still available to the public.
All laid back goods should be set free at the end of the day and whenever you buy from the facility it takes your reserved goods first. |
It would sure be great if labourers could work at job sites and recieve some product instead of cash.
example; if we enable the checkbox marked "payment in resource"
instead of the one marked "payment in coins"
..one step further would be to program a little slider bar in the interface to manage how the payment could be distributed, coins vs. product.
merchants are happy, and so too are the players seeking to build their castles.
I've noticed worksites can possess fractions of a product
ex; in stock : 0.48
well, couldn't we? |
This should be under the Ideas section.
