AuthorDoes Defense work against Magic Punch?
Creates a fist that punches target enemy stack, dealing physical damage. This spell ignores magic resistances, such as Magic shield, Magic proof or Immunity to magic.

Since magic seems to have no effect on magic punch, does this mean higher defense and physical damage reduction help?
No, it's magic, so 1 mage always deals 20 damage.
The only damage mitigation for Magic fist gos through a counter-faction skill with the faction of your opponent. E.g., if your opponent is a wizard and that wizard or his magi cast a magic fist on your troops, they will take less damage from it if you have any faction skill levels with the Wizards (regardless of what faction you're actually currently playing).
The game description says it's not magic. It does physical damage.

• Defense
Determines the steadiness of your troops to physical attacks of the opponent. Does not extend over magical damage.

Since the magic punch does "physical damage", defense should help.

I think this is either a bug, design flaw, or the admin should just change the descriptions.
No flaws nor bugs, Magic fist is a spell, thus of a magical origin. You cannot defend yourself from a thing that punches you from heaven out of nowhere ;))
But I guess, changing this to
Determines the steadiness of your troops to physical attacks of the opponent's troops.
would do the trick.
"opponent's troops" I agree. The defense description should be changed to that since I also notice that hero physical attacks ignore defense.

But both heroes and magi can cast magic punch. I guess you can argue that "physical attack" is different from "physical damage", but that's a fine line.
The magic always deals physical damages, mean Magic Proof, Piercing magic and Great Defence will never be affected by the damages ... Ur defence and ur abilities of resist on magic will be 100% IGNORED ..

I'm not talking about magic defense. The spell description pretty clearly defines magic punch as ignoring all magical protections.

But I think (physical) defense should work against magic punch.

1. It ignores all magical protection hence physical protection should work. There's no 3rd type of damage is there, right?
2. Magic punch description says "physical damage". Physical damage means physical defense should work, right?
