Is it completely random time and random place?
Is it faster on certain routes?
Does it matter if you set ambush for 5 consecutive minutes or five 1 min? |
I think ambushes are triggered by players moving from one area to another. I'm not sure if the level of the moving player matters.
Busier routes usually equal shorter wait times. I find that the shortest wait times are usually on the Great Capital <=> Yellow Lake route.

I see. So the game encourages thieves to ambush players and not do the caravans.
