Also, if all elements have 20% chance, wouldn't the chance of getting an element be quite high? (20% * number of elements possible to receive) |

But what you're trying to say is that the total chance of getting an element is 20%, and if i get MG 4 i get 40% chance of getting an element, right? |
not really 40%, you have 2 times a chance of 20%
even when you have 5 times the chance of 20% for an item, you can still be unlucky and have no elements
2 times a chance of 20% is equal to one chance of 34% to get an item

Your all wrong except shebali. I done some research onto this subject months ago.
Once you reach merc 4 you have chance to loot 2 elements.
This isnt calculated 2*20% as 20% to get 1. It is actually calculated like this.
You just completed the quest. You then have 20% chance to find one element and then another 20% chance to find an element. It isnt added so that it is 40% chance it is 2 separate counts. So effectivly you have same chance of getting an element but you get the chance twice.
So:
Merc Guild 1-3: 20% Chance to find an element
merc Guild 3+ : 20% Chance to find an element + another 20% chance to find an element.
I personally have only got 2 elements as reward once. Sadly it was shard + abrasive. |
