AuthorModerators
Hi,
i think its a good suggestion that moderators also can delete a part of a post.
Because most of the time, only a part of a post is wrong (swearing, insulting, off topic, etc etc) but the rest of the post is still good and shouldnt be deleted.
For example, if someone types a story, and in the end he swears a bit, then the moderators should delete the whole post, but then they also delete the whole story =(
I totally agree +1
Agree
I agree. this forum desperately needs an edit post button or something. Maybe at first it can be limited to mods for a testing period and then let players edit their own posts. Mods would be able to edit any post.
I agree that mods to be allowed to delete part of the post. On the other hand i disagree that players should be allowed to edit their post due to many complications in the trading area. Players may change their claims, etc.
I certainly agree that moderators should be able to delete part of a post rather than having to delete a whole post, it would be much fairer when only part of a long post was wrong, inaccurate or bad words etc
Well can i agree even if i'm not a mod but my opinion is AGREE!
I think the forums are non-editable by design - just to track what have been posted. If posts become editable, tracking what has been actually written is near impossible.

If something had to be implemented, it would be a preview before posting. IMHO. But I won't complain if such a feature is implemented :)
I think that Administrators should decide who will be banned not mods!Because in many cases mods ban people without right reason!Admins are old enough to judge who is talking about something serious and who should be banned, not you youngsters!
Excuse me but I am a moderator, and I am certainly not a youngster, not when my eldest son is 20 years old, I will leave you to work out how old that makes me, but you get the idea.

I therefore believe that if I banned someone then it would be something serious.

What you should also bear in mind is that it is only the administrators that can Block a character, now that is a serious action to be taken against someone.
That is what i am talking about!I never saw that someone is banned by you because serious mod knows what is for ban and what is not! Some little mistake and here we go ban!Maybe some people are new on forum and imagine that they will be scared to get back on forum because someone have banned them and they dont know that months of playing will be lost!So tell this youngsters that have power of mods in their hands to chill out and explain people FIRST where they making mistake then ban if they do it again!
I take offense to to your post #9 and #11. I am also a "sage" with moderator rights in QaH. I get complaints often about my bans but i do my "Job" and ban for breaking the rules.

I am also not of the younger generation and i dont know of any mod that is below the age of 18 for start. I may be right i may be wrong. I have probally banned 40-50-60 people from forums, but i never wanted to ban any of them. They just broke the rules i happened to be there.

I think Kotrin is right about the edit problem design.

I agree with Sven91's idea, but regular players should be able to edit their own posts too.
what i agress is i hope every single words , what i mean here is a sentence moderator can delete... just delete the sentence and ask the author to write better again =)
Agree because when mods delete the whole post, it seemed to be too harshed.
What would be the point of not swearing, if mods would just edit it out? As mods delete the whole post, people are forced to be careful of what they say, if they want people to read their posts.
for MyDoom:
If you have a problem with moderator's actions (and I'm fairly certain I know what mod you have a problem with) PM Secretary. Though I'm not sure what you'll say - 'I broke rules and got banned!1!' won't earn you much sympathy.

Back to topic: 'editing one's post' has been suggested many times, so no point in repeating it, but being able to 'censore' posts certanly would be useful.

That's what the ban function is for.

Maybe there should be an auto-censor. Don't see why a swear filter can't be applied on everything from player names to chat to the forums.
for Pantheon:
Auto-censor is a tricky thing. We had (admitedly, for short time) a censor system that banned my nickname (Prevented player from posting it, or adding to personal info) Needless to say, I wasn't happy about it :|
