AuthorQuestion about Ricochet
Ok so I have noticed the following several times but waited to post a query until i had some speculation as to the cause.

In several battles (i now believe its only when i have allies so either a group hunt or pvp team battle) i have shot at a stack and either had no ricochet, despite that what i was shooting at was not a demon stack, or had less than the 4 strikes that the ricochet should do.

I believe I have narrowed down the cause to be this: If there is an allied stack closer to the last creature to be struck than the next closest target for the ricochet the volley stops.

example diagram: X=enemy O=ally the number corresponds to the order struck by the range shot.

so in the above diagram since my ally is closer to 2x than what would be 3x the ricochet stops after 2x.

Is that correct?
maybe a link to a battle where this happens could help explain it better?
I think that there is a distance relationship as well, if the next target is too far away it doesn't fire. (I have looked too)

I have also seen a ricochet hit an ally.

I don't think there's a distance issue. Ricochet appears to go on despite huge distances.
distance is not a problem.
U are right xinj, if the nearest(next) target is a non demon friendly stack the shot stops there.
thanks alyna. the first time i saw it happen i was tired and not paying close attention. after i saw it again i realized i hadn't dreamt it and had to figure out what was going on.

it happens on my first shot when i was helping in this hunt. ricocheted once and stopped. i have other examples but im too lazy to go looking for them.
