Are Cheaters Ruining the Game?

AuthorAre Cheaters Ruining the Game?
I know that in any game there will always be cheaters. But is the current level of cheating acceptable? Should more be done to prevent or punish cheaters?
not relay most of chitters simply ruining their own game and make it un challenging the only ones the ruining the game are the ones that leas money and dont return or the ones that still tgi

Well can't say anything about TGI but people must prevent from giving loans if anyone wants money he/she should work hard
i think any cheating is unacceptable u say there are always cheaters and i realise that but in my opinion seeing there are not that many active players if u look in Complaints forum yes IMO the level of cheating is unacceptable.

and in answer to your question cheaters ruin every game
I'm asking this because there are huge numbers of cheaters in the game. A quick look in the CAA forum will you give an idea.

Recently I've started a long thread of cheating in the CAA forum instead of making new topics everytime I see a cheater. Many wonder how people like Kotrin can find so many cheaters. I used to be one of those people as well. But just a simple check of players with suspicious names or just random checks of players who buy from the market and you would discover the most popular type of cheating: multi financial support. I'm astonished by the amount of cheating not just in terms of players, but by how much cheating certain individual players do. I have discovered players with well over 10 multis with multiple sub-networks. It's like following the branches in a tree.

Now the guy is selling the TGI on the market without returning it.

Yeah, that's what is really prompting my outburst today. I just found out the latest outrage from my TGI renter, sasha123. Well, more exactly it is his multi: Temka. https://www.lordswm.com/pl_info.php?id=4519799
Who is putting my TGI up on the market.
https://www.lordswm.com/auction_lot_protocol.php?id=47491535

Outrages:
1. A few days into the TGI lease, renter PMs me saying he wants to stop doing TG and that I could keep his 20k gold deposit.
2. He started buying and selling thief arts. (which is he agreed not to when he rented my TGI)
3. Took several PMs back and forth to get him to transfer a thief art after he reached TG1.
4. Took him 6-7 weeks to reach TG2.
5. Took even more PMs to get another thief art when he reached TG2. Initially he said he didn't even get a thief art.
6. He went on to say he didn't receive a TGI at TG2.
7. A week later he transfers a TGI to his multi.
8. Then a few days later (today) his multi puts it up on the market for sale.

Oh yeah, I forgot. After the first outrage when I got him to continue thieving, he complained on CAA about a bunch of hunting arts I sent to my brother (who is on a different computer with a different IP). Of course he failed to post the section of my transfer logs where my brother returned the arts about 10minutes later since my brother was only holding the arts for me while I switched factions. And our overburdened sweepers fined me without really checking. I, of course, appealed to secretary and got no reply (It has been almost 2 months now). Sadly the sweepers haven't gotten around to fining sasha123 for his obvious multi financial support.

Other than the cheating directly ruining the game, I think the current level cheating is encouraging others to cheat as well. A while back there was a long thread about how it pays to cheat because the fines are too low (never fined more than you illegal obtained) and most players don't get caught.
Alas it's really a nightmare for any TGI renter.
According to me (and many people) the admins must do something about risk in renting TGI. Altough they do not take responsiblity of unreturned debts but they must do anything about poor conduct towards TGI renting.
It'a an important feature of game. The game could suffer heavily if every guy using TGI do the above mention thing and have no fear of being punished

Ideally I agree with you that any amount of cheating is too much. But since the world is imperfect, we need to accept some minimum level threshold of cheating. And I believe a while back we already crossed the arbitrary line.

Having said this, I applaud the admins in creating the new CAA forum because this would help organize the topics a little bit (though I have seen people posting in the wrong forum).
I'm just throwing this up into the air, but maybe the admins secretly want people to waste TGIs because this way it reduces the amount of TGIs floating around and increasing the chance that someone will donate to get diamonds to buy new TGIs.
Back to that TGI renter sasha123 and his alt

And now it's sold...

https://www.lordswm.com/pl_transfers.php?id=4519799

04-28-09 18:11: Sold item: "Thief invitation" [1/1] for 380000 gold to BlackLung as lot #491535. Commission: 3800

So technically what will the admins do about this? Fine the player or ban them?
#10 i think that idea although a possibility is probably unlikely as the admins are pro development of this game however your point is valid. the possibility that admins dont put rules on TGI's so you pay with damonds to get a new one could exist but if the admins are letting players lose their TGI'2 just for a few more euros then i think that is really outrageous. but as i said i think this is probably unlikely
If you look at BlackLung's transfer log he got the money to buy the TGI from illegal transfers.

And the guy that bought it is yet another cheater ... and it goes on and on and on...
Hi,

I'm new to this game (just joined a week ago), but I have played many onloine games, of all genre.

To all cheaters reading this, I have this to say - You people should be ASHAMED of yourself. This is a GAME, for heaven sake. If you can resort to cheating to get some IMAGINARY object in a cyber game, u REALLY have a serious problem.

If shows your utter lack of principles and integrity, and reflects badly not only on yourself, but on your parents who brought u up.

Sigh...

*Goes back to playing Two Towers, where hopefully u can't find cheaters, since it's 1 vs 1. haha...*
I think the whole enrollment system (the main way of getting gold) is flawed. There's nothing to prevent players from creating a ton of multis to enroll and transfer gold to their main.

Possible improvements:
1. No transfers till combat level 5.
2. Reduction of wages for lower labor guild levels. And to offset this for the lower combat levels, lower building costs as well.
3. Transfer log search function and filters. So we can search, sort, and organize transfer logs easier, which makes detecting cheaters easier.
4. Increasing wages for higher labor guild levels. And to offset this for higher combat levels, increase building costs.
5. Reduce wages across the board for everyone, but increase gold received from combat (hunts, merc, thief multiplier, etc.)
There has been a lot of discussion regarding why our server has so few players online while the number registered is so high.

The main explanations I saw are these two:
1. AP rule.
2. People just testing the game for a little.

Well, I would like to introduce a 3rd reason. It's all the cheating.

1. TGI can be easily stolen.
2. Tons of cheaters get near unlimited gold from their multis.
3. Admins don't catch all the cheaters. And for those that are caught, they are fined an amount less than what they illegally obtained.
4. It's easy to just make another multi and keep on going.
5. Xp can be easily gotten by fighting against yourself with your multis. And even less oversight is being done here.
6. Given the amount of offensive language hunt creatures spout out, it is safe to say offensive language is okay.
7. Offensive names are okay too given the large number that exists.
Oh yeah, I forgot another main reason. Some say it's because admins need to eat and the server costs too much money. And not enough players are donating enough money to keep the game going.

Well, if there's so much cheating going on, how much donations can be expected?
I urge Binghuo, leader of #279 The Dragon Slaughter, to take action against BlackLung. As the clan leader, he should take some responsibility and evict BlackLung from the clan.
Well we know your point know.

This is mainly a complain topic, so please create such topic in off-game forum and name it ''complain topic'' or something. So people can lose their frustration there.
