like r they only in really hard hunts?

Chance to gain items depends on your HG level. It's (3+HG) %. In your case that would be 5% so you should get artifacts once per 20 hunts :) If you got 5 artifacts total so far you should be in average situation.
To get more arts you need to increase HG level ( by hunting more ). |

i have been hunting on lvl3 HG and i have got no MH or hunter gear
plus no ore or wood |

Ore and Wood is not extra bonus resources you just get them sometimes instead of some gold ( usually wood + gold value is not higher than what you would get if you got only gold ).
About hunter arts chance, make some database with hunts and what item you got, keep it running for 100-150 hunts then you can calculate how many arts you got. If you are HG 2 or 3 the chance to get art is 5-6% respectively and that means 1 art per 20 hunts more or less. According to basic probability theory there is a good chance you will experience periods of 50-60 hunts with only 1 art gained or maybe 0 but also you might get later 2 arts within very few battles.
If you are not very bored go back and check all your hunts - what u got and when and write it down and you will see that over a long amount of time you will get the average number of arts.
One way to increase arts gained is to do hunt assists, you get same chance for art there as if you do your own hunt. |

With the hunt points amount increased, numbers of neutral creatures on the map grows, too, as well as treasures, guarded by them, and artifact value. Thus, after getting level 3 in hunters’ guild you will be able to find some resources in addition to gold.
In case of victory, the assistant does not get any gold, but does gain 0.1 hunt points, up to 0.5 faction skill points, full experience and has a chance to find an artifact. |
