well i read the other thread that got closed rather quickly and didnt get any answers. i have never heard of and/or encountered dragons. can any one explain the chances, ways, levels, and difficulty of dragon ambushes. is it like a thieve guild ambush where you need to be moving? expierence gained? gold lost or gained?
i have a lot of questions, seeing how i have never heard of this before so please dont rush to close this thread because i probably will ask more questions unless someone answers all of them in one huge post. |
chances and time taken is random.
all you need to do is go and wait in RoH, and wait some more and wait and wait !
all levels can be ambushed by dragons,no need to move about, it's a stationary ambush in RoH location.
you need not have min AP requirement or a full troop setup to get ambushed.
no gold is gained or lost
xp and skill point gained depends on the number of dragons killed
number of dragons you get depends on your combat level,(eg 5 drags at lv 5, 7-8 at lv 6, 14-18 at lv 8 etc.)
you face a mixed bag of green, emerald, twilight and black dragons. the stack size and number are random. |

| do you have to do something as in click on map or character to make it appear. something like when you are waiting for a battle to start, you click on battle page or anything else and it directs right to the battle? basically does it appear when the page is refreshed or can you be just sitting there for 10 minutes staring at the screen and all of a sudden the screen goes gray. |
Dragons are encountered at the Ridge of Hope location on the map
They will attack you regardless of level, artifacts equipped and, if I'm right, as long as you have more than 40% health.
The attack will occur at any point when you are stationary at the Ridge of Hope and not doing any combat there at the moment. The attack will take the form similar to an ambush, except that it happens when you are stationary.
Experience gained is variable on the number and type of dragon you face.

I noticed the dragons become stronger with each victory, much like hunting.
Also, once I was attacked almost immediately upon reaching the RoH, didn't even have time to suit up. This was unlucky as most of the time you wait and wait!
This is perhaps the best way to earn FSP without going overboard on exp, as I got 0.65 FSP for each victory, and not much over 1k exp. |
usually it refreshes automatically if the battle begins.
in somecases, the refresh fails and players have found themselves battling dragons without settlement.
i'll suggest you to keep a group battle/tavern page on in a separate tab. those pages auto-refresh every 30s or so, and you will not miss the dragon guards. |
Not sure that we get the same rule, but on ru server the number of dragons only depends on your own hp.
I've seen a battle where a lvl 14 necro with a single skellie was ambushed by a single dragon. |

Yes, something like that. You do not need to click on anything. It goes directly to the battle as long as you are on a page that refreshes consistently |
so basically if i got this right as long as you are there its kind of like being in that 30 seconds of limbo right after you have joined a battle when you have no idea when the fight will pop up. sometimes when you refresh sometimes on its own (depending on which page you are on and with the exception of 30 seconds being 30 minutes)
just out of interest i have heard just now that it has happened the second you get there, what about the longest any one has waited? any one wait there a ridiculous amount of time? |
you got it right.
i know people who have waited 2-3 hours at a stretch!
i personally have waited for an hour, before making a quick trip to EB for a job. |
Ermmm.. noob Q - What's the deal with these dragons? Do u get anything special, extra FSPs, EXPs arts etc if u face/beat them?
Or is it just the fact that u can say "I have faced the dragons!" ? :) |

Nothing special at the current time. When they first came out, you could get special 'items' from them (coal, tar, etc)but there is nothing now beyond the fight.
Standard FSP and Exp for the difficulty, except you do not need to be in min arts. No rewards. |

Were/is there any use in the current game for these 'special' minerals? If so, and the fact they are no longer rewarded as bonus for facing the dragons, then whatever these special items (coal, tar, etc) are used for, can no longer be done, right? |
| As far as I know, there is no special use for these materials now. And they are no longer awarded. |

If you have any of these materials, you could try going to Misty Coast to try to sell them to the facilities there, but I'm not sure if you can do that anymore. |
