Some people is very slow on battes, making it borying.
My advice is to turn battles on VERY FAST or even better INSTANT on "Personal Settings". It will not be the cat jump, but as more players do it, the faster battles tend to be.
Thanks and UP for other players to see.

i agree but don't use so much caps. especcially in ur title. u can get banned. and this should be in ideas and suggestions |
I disagree. I assume u mean PvP, against other humans, since AI are fast.
This is a tactical strategic game, njot some mindless shooting game. A battlefield and ally/enemies troops changes positions after each turn. How can u make an instant decision/move one after another? This is not a speed contest. You can see the timer set for that PvP before you join. Most are set at 30 seconds anyway.
If this game is to remotely emulate real life battle, a commander have to THINK before making a move, no? Whether to re-deploy his/her troops, attack/defend etc, all requires thought. An com'on, 30 seconds to think about a move is pretty reasonable, considering all factors.
My 1-cent worth. |
Just to add, how many of us have made a move a too fast that we regretted (and would not have made if we take a few more seconds to think about it), and may/may not have cost us the whole battle, and thus let ourselves and our team-mates down? I would say almost, if not all of us.
Like (almost) everything else in life, it's good to have a little patience.

Nothing personal, but imho, "VERY FAST or even better INSTANT" battles really sounds pretty ridiculous for a strategic, turn-based battle game. :) |

Speak for yourself. If you're good, you should be able to make decisions quickly. Anyone can make good decisions if they think long enough. Only a few can make good decisions in a flash. XP |
imho
I AM speaking for myself. Never said I was good. :)
Besides, my opinion don't usually means much to anyone anyway. :D

I don't know about that... :p |
not true Speak for yourself. If you're good, you should be able to make decisions quickly. Anyone can make good decisions if they think long enough. Only a few can make good decisions in a flash. XP
not true u have to think a bout the possible pros and cons and see if the pros outnumber the cons and then u know if it is the right move and if u do it fast it probably isnt right |
He's talking about the animation speed of the combat, not the time in which you have to decide which move to make |
faster turn? less wiating time?
buggers, not everyone has good connection like you.... |

1. Some people think quicker than others, they can assess the consequences and benefits of an action faster than some. Even though they move "quickly", their moves are not "stupid." Slow thinking people deserve to be beaten by those. Especially in games. No mercy for the slow thinkers! XD
2. "Fast" is a relative term. For some people 45 seconds is fast. For some, it feels like ages. XP

There is a setting for that in the personal settings page... |
i think He's talking about the animation speed of the combat, not the time in which you have to decide which move to make. so let's end this quick-where-to-move-or-hit-decision-making discussion cause i think that's not the TS wants to discuss
you can change the setting for that in the personal settings page
i don't know if it makes much difference or not since battle animation only takes 2 second max, while the where-to-move-or-hit itself could take hundreds seconds depending on the people and their internet connection |

quite frequently! and right after my mouseclick! |
anyway, i use Instant, ever since ... ever |
For those who think the TS is talking about the animation speed, I don't think so. See his first sentence -

simplest solution to that is avoiding PvPs, don't help unknown people in hunts (in case they are slow), and ask help from 'fast' friends only.
lv 6 has plenty to offer in MG and hunts alone. |
for Jedi-Knight:
See his second: My advice is to turn battles on VERY FAST or even better INSTANT on "Personal Settings".
I'd say he's talking about both. |
I agree if the 1st turn of each players should be halved ... :)
to make us not waiting too long .. :) |

Hmm.. possible that the TS is indeed talking about both. haha..
I agree if the 1st turn of each players should be halved
I would agree about this part though. That 180-240 seconds (I think) to place your initial troops does seems a tad too long. :)
But this halving (if it's ever gonna happen) should apply to PvPs only. When u do stuff alone, like hunts, quests etc, you should be allowed to take all the time u want since it's your own time u are 'wasting'. :p |

This time is not for setting up and chating, but for crashing connections to finally join the combat. Most of the server problems appear when you are trying to start the battle. When you finally arrive, system can somehow send you enough data to fight most of the times.

There is already a setting for that: Animation speed at personal settings. Set it on instant and everybody will move very fast. But you cannot except to make waiting times for players any lower. If not the thinking part of battle, the players should have 30-60 seconds to reconnect when some server/ their own connection problem occurs. |
