Author"???" or "hi question"
I notice that the player who posted a topic with title "???" got banned, but the one who did "hi question" was fine.

So is "hi question" really a more meaningful title than "???"? Do people not know that "???" means "question"? Or is the inclusion of the word "hi" make it more courteous and therefore acceptable?

And do not tell me to use PM for this question. I'm sure a lot of people would like to have this cleared up. What standard are you mods using? Or do you just ban people arbitrarily?

It could just mean the mods neglected to see that "hi question" topic. It is in the rules to have a subject that relates to the post.
"hi" makes it more courteous and therefore acceptable

guess so :D

??? dude got banned for like few minutes anyway, but if he had wrote "hi ???", he could've get away with it
It could just mean the mods neglected to see that "hi question
Not possible, since the same sage replied to both. :)

This is a small issue though, I think. If you're concerned about moderating standards, consider how different mods are practising entirely different standards. Yet that is how it's supposed to be, since bans are left to each moderator's personal choice.
that is how it's supposed to be

Maybe that's how it is, but why is it "supposed" to be like that?
it does not matter what the topic name is, if the mods want to ban someone because they have nothing going on in their lives they are happy about they will.

i saw a post where someone posted "OMG...IM STARTLED", and they got banned for writing in all caps.
so to test this, i wrote "omg...IM STARTLED"

obviously it is the same exact message but because whatever mod was running through the threads was not on such of an attention binge as the one before, i have never gotten banned.

all you have to realize is that these mods have been given a power for the first time in life and you better believe they are going to abuse it as much as possible until someone above them tells them to stop
2. The topic header should briefly reflect the main point. Those consisting only of special symbols or letters are forbidden. In case of decorating or marking out the topic by symbols or caps - your character'll be adorned by a long ban.

maybe thats why
Those consisting only of special symbols

exactly thats the reason

??? is a set of symbol symbols and all caps are considered rude and are liable to punishment

thats the rule so if mods feel like it they can ban you for its violation

whereas hi question suggests "hi all i have a question please answer it" and theres nothing wrong with it
"hi all i have a question please answer it", even allowing for such a ridiculous stretch, hardly meets the requirement, "The topic header should briefly reflect the main point." It's a "Queries and Help" forum. If you post a topic here, you are assumed to be "asking" for something.

Next, you'd be telling that if I use "Hi topic", that would suggest "Hi all I'm posting a topic please read it", and there's nothing wrong with it.
Don't forget why we need a topic for our posts. The topic should relates to the posts. Even "hi" or "???" can't let us understand what you want to say without reading your post:)

So the best way is to write your topic clearer and more acceptable.
