straws you never answered the question, if it has no advantage why do it. i know it doesnt take long, but at least a minute, why not just do that battle and get it over with. why bother doing extra work that doesnt help you in anyway?
and by the way i have to say "good job" to the mods for not locking this thread, i know its killing you, but relax, rest that trigger finger, there will be others. this is a decent, insult-free, interesting debate and is not disrupting the game or forum in anyway.
it actually takes less than 10 secs to find out who ambushed me, and since i only travel to do my merc quests, im not afk most of those time i got ambushed, while most of the time the thief do not know they ambushed someone, so i got plenty extra time to find out who ambushed me, even look at their combat log, transfer log, and personal info... i simply like to look at those, i even look at my own personal info when i got nth to do while waiting for ambush, get it?
Not really, it sounds like you were so excited to find out you could do this, and nobody gets that excited over looking at someone else's profile. many people on here have said its cheating for different ways.

you are using another character in combination with your main one. they are suppose to have no effect on each other. you can do something with your main that i can not, due to the fact you have another character. this means you have an advantage of some kind.

no matter what the advantage is, whether it is seeing from the start what type of creature ratio they have, to know how to set up. for example seeing someone has more ghosts so you set up your archers in a lot of little stacks to take away the MISS. Or they have a lot put into griffins, so you dont split up your strong stacks because taking retal isnt necessary.

or using -> i got plenty extra time to find out who ambushed me -this extra time to go through recent combat logs and watch a quick battle to see how they place their units.

whether you do this or not, it is cheating.
Pardon me trufleshuffle13, might I know which rule Straws specifically broke? I glossed through the rules a few times and don't see any rules that state that glossing through player profiles constitutes to a form of cheating.

Imo, what Straws did is perfectly legal, albeit in a grey zone.
well, i said look through their logs, not replays, and of course i get to see what their troops consist of, and so? i have absolute no chance to win with my min troop with 0 art, i dont call that advantage

Not really, it sounds like you were so excited to find out you could do this, and nobody gets that excited over looking at someone else's profile.
what i said that made me sound im excited? and i also never said i got excited by looking at someone else profiles? what are you talking about?
3.9. Additional characters created for >>>ANY KIND<<< of support to the main one ("multichars" later on), (e.g. resource and artifact keeping, trading, assists in combat or enrollment) are forbidden. All multichars found will be banned, and the owner will be subject to penalty.

seems pretty black and white to me. he can try to slip it into the grey area by saying, "well when i use my alt to check someone ambushing my main character it is only for interest and not for a combat advantage" but reasons for breaking a rule do not matter when you are actually breaking a rule.
so how is it support to my main character, if it doesnt affect anything?
i have absolute no chance to win with my min troop with 0 art, i dont call that advantage

so if you didnt travel with just 1 troop would it be considered cheating?

https://www.lordswm.com/warlog.php?lt=-1&warid=10913706 this ambush shows you having a pretty full army. let me guess, just because he out played you and you lost, it is not considered cheating.
right, and what tells you i checked his replays beforehand? i already said i didnt
nothing, nothing tells me you checked his replays before hand. but it doesnt matter anyways, your not going to get in trouble either way, so im not sure why im fighting this. i dont care to go find cheaters and post threads about them, but when someone openly admits to cheating and still doesnt get in trouble i guess that bothers me so thats why i pursued it.

but i dont really care anymore, i wont be ambushing you anytime soon so it doesn't really affect me. do as you must.
since when did i admit i cheated anyway? >.>
Opening multi pages is not illegal in LWM. The rule Dalek I believe is confusing with this is having 2 of your own characters logged in AND competing against one another - as expained by guru.

With that said, Straws is NOT cheating by opening a new page to view an ambusher. Consider if both are in a chat room, all you have to do is push the [i] link and it will pop up on a new page. The admins would not create such a button if opening 2 pages was illegal. For example --> Skunder [7] [i] [*]

As for thieves in RL, and in general, the most successful thief is the one who is the most 'plugged in' to affairs of underground knowledge and dealings of the criminal world. Thus, knowing people gets you 'jobs' which gets you inserted into the criminal element.

This last part is meant as gentle instruction, not a full blown rant which I hope you understand. For trufleshufle13 and ur post of #62 , I understand you think you are being funny in some way here, but I've been reading your posts for about a week+ now with this same tone from you. Mods are not your enemy and your verbal jabs are not helpful in maintaining peace or an atmosphere of openmindedness. Let me repeat that, your comments which single out mods show a quarrelsome attitude and separates players and mods. Simply, stick to the topics given and leave the mods out of your discussions. If you have a problem with an individual mod, you can do as the Rules instruct, which is to contact the Secretary. No reply necessary, or desired.

I suppose your bane of contention is "assists in combat". From your perspective, glossing through player profile will give a tactical advantage, thus constituting to an infringement of 3.9. Imo, I won't say you're totally wrong from where you're coming at, but my idea of 'assist IN combat' is more strictly and explicitly defined to the combat itself, rather than what I consider an indirect factor; glossing through the thief's profile.

For all we know, a player who decided to use an alt to gloss through the thief's profile might end up making an even poorer decision (though highly unlikely) than he/she decided prior to the proposed act.

Just a difference in the interpretation of rules. While this is getting a bit off-topic, will some1 from an official position help clarify the intepretation of this rule?
In my opinion:
If the thieves' profiles are really secret, then it should be like Blindfold Tour,NOBODY can see the profile of people who are fighting.

And why trufleshufle13 keep accusing Straws cheating here?
Post at complain forum　and we can soon find out whether this is a cheating.
(I don't think it is.)
This topic is long since last update and considered obsolete for further discussions.
