it would be cool if in battle you could have your heroes come in and have there own health bar and attack. Or you could have him possess one of the creatures in your army by a spell and fight this way.

Yes - hero die you die?
Then what about mage - just kill heroe and job done? Or heroe will have like 10`000 hp?
Only option what I see is to fight with heroes like:
Attack oponent hero:
head
boddy
feet
Defend from attacker:
head
boddy
feet
So if attacking heroe hits then for 1 turn heroes controled troops will do +5% dmg to that particular heroe troops, if defender defends sucesfully then his troops defence agains yours is +5%. |

Stat of endurance a.k.a. health point is not implemented and need a lot of balancing and to rebalance the whole stat system to do so. |

If theres like 1 farmer with 1/4 hp left, and the last troop of you dies, the hero runs for that 1 wounded farmer, so its quite annoying.
But i have a better solution to make heroes more part of the game. More things from HoMM V! There the hero attack deals a lot of damage, at level 7+ even enough damage to kill a tier 6 unit. In this game level 7+ gets to kill a tier 3 unit -.- |

what about if you use that when you're sure to loose and you call the hero in then, and he fights after the troops are defeated, i never liked runnning away... |

I think if the hero dies...it should respawn in "x" amount of turns...that would be neat. |
I've always wanted the hero to enter the fight, but it would need a lot of work.
and for you people saying what happens if the Hero's HP hits Zero, he/she would retreat to the edge of the FIELD to where they are right now in the game, then run like normal when all the troops are well, dead, or just run strait off the screen if he/she was the last unit.
I would like to see this implemented, because I for one HATE being on the side lines, I want to be in the thick of it |

your hero should die and no longer be able to attack not go back to were it was if you went back then you could use it agen and agen and keep taking over units also if hero dies you donot lose if that was the case then why go for anything but their hero |
Hobobob44, first the HERO is "US" so if Hero DIES we DIE, Game over, so with the hero retreating to the edge of the field when HP hits 0 prevents that(lets just say the HP we see isn't the True HP),
but I should have mentioned in my post, that when the hero retreats to the edge, the hero gets no more turns, and we control our units like normal, we ran to the edge of the field we should be to give commands right?
our hero is a normal suped up unit(like hero's should be). also where did you get the take over units idea? I don't see that... not great idea here. |
